Glad to see this! Sport quads are almost extinct in my area, but I've always had one (or two...) Lately I've had fewer folks to ride with, and sometimes even ride alone due to being on a sport quad. Raptors are the best for all around trail riding!

Awsome! This channel just keeps getting better. I like SXSs but I still like the light flickable sport quads. The fun factor is off the chart. Wheelies on command! But they are a workout, it works out good to have the comfy big bore utility and the sport quad to trade off. I have the Sportsman 1000/yfz450 combo. I love the lack of brand loyalty on this channel, keep it up guys!

Funny story: On the day we are putting my dad to rest, my wife gets a text from her sister advising their mom is not doing well and they're bringing in the priest. So as soon as we're done with my dad's internment, we're rushing 2 hours south to be with her 91 year old mom. I'm not looking for sympathy here; just thinkin'bout how things happen. +2 steering column is great. I put a maco clamp with the pro taper bars...what a difference on arm pump. Then also look into the urmosi thump throttle.

Took a few years off and now have a scrambler 2 stroke. I rode it around the farm yesterday and I’m sore and beat up!! No power steering and a straight axle on the rear is definitely going to take some physical therapy lol. But dammit boys it’s just like back in the good ole days!! 👍🏼😎. We were tough and had to conquer all things with 400cc and under 😆.

Yeah I agree with you on that for sure. I like using my Grizzly for hunting and when fishing season opens up again in the spring I'll get out to a few hard to reach spots. I am Brian. I just recently made up my mind to get back on 4 wheels. I’m 38 and I have not rode since I was 17yrs. I had a Yamaha 350 Blaster. I’m undecided if I should go back to a sport or get a utility bike, like a sportsman or a can-am. I’m similar build as Brian.

Hahaha! #IamBrian That's awesome that you're getting back into it! I'd say the first thing you need to ask yourself is where, how, and with who you're going to ride... The latest generation of utility machines are super fun and capable.. We have the Sportsman 1000 and Outlander 1000r, they're both awesome.. If you're looking to ride on long trips or most of your buddies ride SXSs, Id go with a 4x4.. If you're going to spend more time in smaller riding areas ripping through twisties, then nothing beats a Sport quad.. For us, the Raptor satisfies the itch, but right now the Outlander is Brian's primary ride... That could change of course..

I have a cruiser that I ride most of the time but when “I feel the need for speed” my buddy let’s me ride his 1300 Hayabusa, lol. I had one before but switched a Harley years ago. @@jamesowens311 I'm the same exact way.. Have a Kawi Vulcan Vaquero and just recently got rid of the GSXR1000.. The Renegade and Scrambler are awesome options. Unfortunately 2018 was the last Scrammy 1000. The 850 is cool too but it lacks some of the features the 1000 had. I'd try to stay 19 or newer on the CanAms.. They fixed some issues in 19.

I'm 46 and ride a 2018 Raptor 700. It is a fun machine. I grew up riding a Honda ATC 110 which I still have and still ride some. What if you put 22 inch tall rear tires instead of the stock 20 inch tires on the back instead of going one tooth bigger on the front sprocket to get your taller gearing and gain some extra ground clearance too? I did the longer Housier +1.25 anti-vibe steering stem and Fastco Flexx bar combo, you will need a 2 inch longer throttle cable for a similar taller handle bar setup, it made mine have a more comfortable riding posture and looks better too. I did the exact same thing. Sold my RZR 900 for a 2020 raptor 700r se. I'm 38 years old. I wasn't enjoying my sxs anymore. It was always breaking, went through two motors, drive shafts, axles, u joints, fans, tie rods, aarms, and more. Just constantly having to work on it. Plus the community was getting pretty toxic... Just a bunch of people blaring loud music in the woods burying 12 packs with drunk women dancing on the roofs... And then on the trails, just constantly having to do 3 pts, or spot crawls etc, constantly having to get out, in, out, in, redo 5 pr each time... I just started to hate it. Now I have this badd ass raptor 700 and it's so much more fun. I can see so much better, and I can pick it up and move it if I need to and I can still haul ass with any sxs on a trail. Plus the raptors easier to haul, I can just ride it up into my truck bed, no trailer, and better has mileage. It's cheaper to fuel a raptor too. I enjoy it so much better. And it's easier to maintain a raptor and easier to clean .

We definitely will.. We've got a couple Raptors, a Banshee, and a 450r on the channel now.. You're right, the 450r with Housers, Elkas, and a Dasa is the dream ride!

@@DirtObseXXion I have my raptor done with all the mods. It's much better then stock. But still has heavier steering and is a bit heavier. Compared to my favorite ride my KTM 505sx! I have LSR arms on the front and GEN3 Floats. Man that thing is the Ferrari of sport quads. Power is super snappy and strong. I'm building a new Yamaha 2018 450r kinda slow stock. But I've got FCI, Rossier pipe, and VORTeX going on it soon. Man them parts cost me 1430$ for them 3. And AIS,delete. I just love how the blue n white 450r looks with the blue frame. Hopefully it will pull harder w the mods.

He was probably 5'9 290 back then.. We got in a bit of fitness craze and shed some lbs recently 💪.. If you're a bigger guy, definitely go with the Raptor.. Not just for power, it's just got more room everywhere

A renegade is just an Outlander with Different plastics so it really doesn't compare to a pure sport machine.. Sport quads are super fun and flickable, 4x4s are a little more capable on gnarly trails.

Im a big guy myself at 270 and six foot two. I know they are not permanent but I bought two blasters in decent shape for a low low price. I wanted something just to get out in the woods on. Have not rode at all in 25+ years and this way I can convince my wife into geting a bigger one next spring if I dont kill myself over the winter.

I'm 6'5" and I'm going to look at a raptor tomorrow. I feel like if I got anything smaller than a Raptor, I'd look like a monkey humping a football. I know that they aren't that much physically larger than other sport quads, but every little bit helps.

I had a 400 4x4, never needed the 4x4. I needed something suitable for rail road bed trails and tight woods with speed abilities. I fell in love with the 660. My stable wants a new(er) 700 but the wife wants something full auto....... maybe a sportsman or renegade........

@@flyingbriando5521 Change rear tires! Stock ones hook very randomly and dont hook when you want them! Get GBC XC Masters! $142 for the rear! Also for big 3s get barkers. I love mine! Also talk to Everything Loud 406 he has a 2019 raptor 700r se the same as pete!

Probably felt like a little toy atv after riding that can am. I’ll stick with my sportsman 1000xp. Faster than the raptor and way more comfortable. I also own a 450r. Never ride it now

Oh yeah, we aren't saying that the Raptor will replace the Outty or the Sportsman.. But sometimes you gotta scratch the itch. We'd like to see more sport quads out there though.. It's sad to see the segment disappear.. Especially since the prices of the big ATVs and SXSs are getting outrageous..

I do miss the lighter weight of the 450r. 1000lb atv is getting ridiculous. Can’t just pick them up and move em. Everytime you get stuck it’s a situation that either requires a tow or a winch. Speaking of stuck. I rarely see these channels address recovery methods or loading and transport of atvs and Utvs.

I just prefer having a rider with me. Relaxing and cruising with cup holders and a laid back seat. Riding with me is sort of like having a party while going through the woods. Blasting music while singing and rocking out. Just having a chill time. Then nearly shitting your pants when you almost hit a tree! To me a wheeler is fun for about 5 mins. Then I’m ready to cruise along and laugh at my buddy when I smoke a mud hole on his side of the ride 😂. Plus I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t live long on a wheeler anyway. I don’t focus enough on what’s going on to pick the lines needed lol
