Honestly, every time I watch a live stream of kim jung gi casually drawing, it always makes me calm when I draw as well and I don't know why. I'm guessing because of how he doesn't care about fame or social media, he just draws what he wants. It always feels like he's a second father that I wish I had (not saying that my father is terrible, he's a cool person). Anyone else has the same feeling?

My sincere hope is that he is paid well for his efforts. I refrain from freehand imaginative drawing because, from my vantage, there is no money in it. If there were, I would do nothing else. All day and every day. There is an awkward nobility in starving as an artist, particularly where fantastic, surrealistic imaging is put forward. So it is good to believe that at least SOME who are capable, do earn well, and do become prosperous expressing themselves in this manner. Just so the Picassos of history don’t hog it all, is enough.

Can anyone translate what he's saying from 18:00 - 35:00?
@SunMinGroot4 жыл бұрын
It won't be a word by word accurate translation, but important point that he explains how to draw wrinkles and lines of clothing: (Please understand grammatical errors, typos...) 18:30 you have to pay attention to seam lines. when the arm is positioning forward, the lines will appear along the muscle movement. The lines will originate from bending point like an elbow, then lines will from various touch points in lose fit clothes like this. 19:30 if the material is thin, then lines will have various shapes and changes. Think about gravity, the weight of clothes will pull down the fabric from wrist, and along the seam lines. 20:20 Pay attention to the central line of the body - the pants are up the waist. The pants folds around pelvis. Looking from a side angle, you can see this folding lines around joints. 22:45 If the fabric is lose, you will see many folding lines across seam lines. Observe the heavy lines around knees, and the fabric falling due to the gravity. Make sure the lengths are different in front part and back part of the leg - front side is rising, and back side is falling. 24:00 The other side - if the pants are tight fit, you will see some stretching around knees, and also wrinkles formed by seam lines. See the difference between lose fit and tight fit. 24:50 In lose fit clothes, the 'vertical' lines will form due to the weight of the clothes (ie. gravity), like falling. In tight fit clothes, the 'horizontal' lines will form across where the clothes fold or bend. 26:50 if you want to draw a leather jacket (heavy and thick material), heavy folding lines will form around seam lines. Thick material will make thick heavy lines. 29:07 if you want to draw an enamel or coated material, then the bending points and lines are sharper and more prominent. Points: pay attention to the points where it bends, think about gravity, weight and texture of fabric, and dynamics of body movement. Hope it helps!
