So pleased to see him cement his place in history with a feat unlikely ever to be equalled let alone surpassed. When the gap appeared, his turn of foot reminded me of his sire, Sea the Stars in the Arc. 12 furlongs may be a bit short for him, but if he goes to Longchamp I would not write off his chance.

Frankie got in a pocket and for a moment it didn't look gd, but this is STRADAVARIUS. The speed he has at the end of the race is unbelievable. He got u out of trouble frankie what a horse. Nayef road what a tough brave horse he is. Santiago is only a 3yr old and he ran a decent race and he will learn from this.

I hope he gets a real chance at stud. I hope he's not only considered a NH stallion. No reason he couldn't sire classic winners.

One of the best goodwood cup I’ve seen in years a 2mile race run in a dawdle pace turn into 2furlong sprint.for a moment it looks like Stradivarius was trap and nowhere to go while nayef and santiago still going ok in front. It’s very clearly that dettori is pulling double but will he get out in time.meanwhile moore got the best position he can ever ask for!and it’s only a matter of time when he pressed the button.then atzeni decided to go for glory with just 2f to race: that crucial moment Ryan moore makes his moves on Santiago but what will he found?lack of acceleration,then suddenly!! The gap open up for brimming frankie dettori and from that moment he knows another record was there for the taking.

Hes being aimed at the Arc, doubt he needs a win in a handicap on his CV to prove anything. A placed finish in the Arc will do much more for his value at stud than winning a Melbourne cup.

The Melbourne Cup is not a genuine staying race. It's rarely run at a genuine gallop and it's a flat, easy racetrack. That's why our 2000m horses have a better record in it than our stayers. It's hard for genuine stayers to sprint the last 500 with the lightweights when the pace isn't genuine and it's a stop/start sit and sprint affair.

Strad wow..frankie almost messed up keeping him inside...the horse rode the jockey here..this horse does not run he jumps. Once u press the button the turbo switches on

The horse is so intelligent... Watch the way when trapped about 2 out, his head carriage is this way because he spots the gap. Frankie doesn't let him go and switches outside. The he flattens out and wins his race... Almost like a 'fuck you, we'll do it this way then'

Terrible ride from Frankie, should have pulled out when he had the chance at the 3 furlong mark instead of continuing to track the O'Brien horse. Lucky the horse got him out of trouble! I got the forecast on this race in the end! :)

the race did not look all that strong to me; i thought nayef road was a great forecast bet with stradivarius, because santiago is over rated - he is at least 7 pounds behind serpentine, who would have won this race quite comfortably if he had run; o'brien might be looking at entering the derby winner for the leger as well as delphi.
@craigpope85804 жыл бұрын
Serpentine would not of beaten stradivarius over this distance that's why aidan didn't run him and plus it's not a likely race for a epsom derby winner
@normansmithers76314 жыл бұрын
@@craigpope8580 i think serpentine would have won today, because it wasn't a strong race & he is 7 pounds superior to santiago; however, you are right - o'brien has got to work out where to run serpentine next, at what distance & who should ride him. i've heard he is going for the 'grand prix de paris' in september, which i believe is about a mile & a half; one hopes that emmet mcnamara would ride him again, unless they hold him up next time, in which case, ryan moore may take over. stradivarius does not have the speed to win the arc & dettori wouldn't be riding him, anyway, because he will be on enable.

@@normansmithers7631 I agree in the sense that stradivarius wont win the arc but he is still good enough to run a very good race as for serpentine yes he will go to france for the 1m 4 furlongs race ryan moore will be aboard hope they dont hold him up he looks to have a lot of natural speed and stays very well I would stick him out the front then he will go to the arc if ground is no worse than good to soft enable will win her 3rd arc if not serpentine and love have a great chance imo
@normansmithers76314 жыл бұрын
@@craigpope8580 cheers, we are nearly on the same page; i would be very disappointed if serpentine flopped in his next race & could never reproduce the form that has won him his last 2 races by a total of 15 lengths. there was very little difference in the winning times of serpentine & oaks winner, love, but whereas the derby winner had to make all his own running, love had the luxury of 2 pacemakers. i would not be that upset if enable beat serpentine & love to win the arc, providing they were the first 3. all the best.

You clowns they won't have Enable and Stradivarius in the same race or a few others for that matter. He will be pulled out last minute as always. Use your loaf 🤣
