Thanks for the honest review being a Polaris owner. I’m torn between the Riot and assault 850.

its defiantly gonna be a hard choice being that u can get the riot for i belive 11500 out the door where as the 850 polaris asssauly is more like 14k out the door i feel the arctic cat handles way better in corners but did not lift the skis like my polaris assault all in all i think u will be happy with either sled!!

KotaBearTV and that’s what I’m kind of looking for. The fun factor lifting the skis! Wonder if they had the demos setup for trails making the skis stay down?

I got to really throw the thing into a couple corners when I got to test ride one up in Michigan and I got ski lift before the thing would push. It was a different experience after being on my cross country with a 141" track. My sled does nothing but push. Overall super impressed and I may trade mine in for one of these.

10:06 I ripped the 850 Backcountry X-RS off that little hill later in the day when that bump to the side had a little more launch on it and thought I was going over backwards. The big bores really lift the skis like crazy compared to my 600r.

I talked several times with the Cat guys and they spent time dialling in the suspension setup. They pulled limiter straps to 3rd hole to keep front end down to corner better. The mountain seat sits lower definitely compared to the trail one, but idea is easier for offtrail. Also rode 850 Polaris Indy XC, it pulls hard!!

Didn't much care for the indy, to me the assault did everything better even felt much lighter than indy.i was very surprised how well the narrower front end of skidoo handled the turns, i did not expect that from a narrower front end.

@rfoss35 жыл бұрын
Very cheap for a 2020 800. I love my 850 assault but I will say that the 2020 Riot 800 rode great. I did have a little push in corners when riding really hard but absolutely zero ski lift. I walked away very impressed and dont have much bad to say beside maybe little push and although the 800 has good power for the trail it is not close to the power of the 850 as of pre-production anyway. Also the riot x has the telescoping bar riser which I felt neccessary for stand up riding and I'm only 5'11.

Then rode the Polaris Indy xc 850 and that by far was the best sled I have ever rhode and best ride. Definitely going Polaris next. Can’t wait to ride the 2020 in a 137 chassis. Feels like that will be an animal. Very easy to wheelie and by far the most fun in a sled I have ever had. Just my opinion.

The Riot was sweet, my shock for the day was the Expedition Extreme shockingly enough... throwing the 20" wide 154" long tracked sled through those iced out corners was hilarious lol. Got to try the Backcountry XR-S as well, very comparable to the Riot but definitely had better power and cornered a bit better on the G4 platform. Full disclosure I'm used to riding the G4.
@wildboer5 жыл бұрын
Ski-Doo took us the same exact route, but the leader of my test ride definitely took the corners faster and the straightaways slower. On a side note all the sleds were cornering like a dream today. Like I said, I test rode the Expedition Extreme with a HUGE track and I was still drifting it through the slushy, iced out corners. Doo definitely had brand new carbides on all their demos though.
