2020 ASA Open Pro Shoot Down - London, Ky.

The Open Pro Shootdown from London, Ky during the TRU Ball/Mathews ASA Pro-Am. Levi Morgan, Shane Bragg, Jack Wallace, Jeff Hopkins, and Joseph Goza were all hammering the 14-ring. With this one coming down to the final arrow, this was quite the thriller.

I need help getting a question answered. I'm getting into competitive archery but I can't find any rules on the sight scopes. What are the rules on magnification scopes? How much magnification an be used?

It depends on the class, some dont allow it at all, such as hunter classes. Open classes dont usually have a max, those most companies only make out to an 8x

I have to ask this totally obvious question. Why, do the pro compound shooters get a wind block with an umbrella, and no other pro shooters, like the recurve shooters, get nothing????? If they are pro's, then lets see how well they shoot in the wind. I am sure if they are hunting, they will not have someone blocking their wind for them when they shoot the real animal. This is just totally sissy for them to get their wind blocked.

You guys are joking right? This isn't archery nor does it simulate hunting. These contraptions they shoot with, with there sights and triggers, risers, plungers, rests, range finders, ect. The only way they could shoot a live animal is if they bait it, cage it, or make it a pet. Get some recurves with no bells and whistles and I'll be impressed. Geez and to see they even have sponsors.? Mathews what the hell is wrong with you?

Guess hunting with a rifle is not hunting then too? They are also guessing the range as in no range finder (Which everyone and their dog uses when hunting) hence the umbrellas so other cant see what they think it is. If you wanna say you shoot way worse then them with a compound you can just say that.

And I dont hunt for sport. Killing an animal is not sport. Hunting with rifles, IN MY OPINION, (we are still allowed to have opinions in this country aren't we) is never sport but that doesn't mean I never use a rifle. I've been known to hunt for food occasionally. If my OPINION about this "shooting contest" offends you, get over it.
