Great solid little car. Good build quality, great ride and handling and I like that it doesn't call too much attention to itself with the design. Would be perfect for me because I buy a car for me to enjoy, not show off to others so having a car that flies under the radar suits me well.

I drove the pre face-lift 19 A4 in red and man.... i love it.. i have to say the standard seats aren't as comfortable as the sport seats as seen in this one. In my opinion its better than the C300 and the 330i.

I returned a 2016 MB E350 at the end of its lease and bought a 2019 Kia Optima 1.6T to save on operating costs. Although its ride, handling, and wind and noise isolation unbelievably isn't too far off from the Benz, it clearly doesn't possess other attributes of a luxury car. I miss the feel of heft and smoothness of a good road car. This Audi A4 WILL be my next car, as I drive into retirement in a few years, or more. A friend let me drive his '17 A4, and I was sold. We had four adults in the car, weighing over 230lbs each. It road very well and pulled like nothing.

I agree, The modern hyundai/kias are the closest thing to a German feel for cheap. VW used to fill that niche but they've lost their way. I look forward to owning a German car again soon for all of the reasons you listed. They're amazing, Handed down my 2011 A4 to my Mom and she's still loving it with 150k on it now.

It probably is a money pit by now. Hyundais and Kias are no way near German car feel. They feel cheap and plasticky and like a tin can. You pay for what you get.

Acura doesn't make luxury vehicles. Acura is slightly upgraded Honda which is cheap plastic all over. I owned two Acura vehicles. They are not in same league as German's built vehicles. Acura is lover across major categories. (Engine power and its feel, the feel of the material, the ride quality, AWD performance, the WOW factor, the way the dealers treats you.)

As a 17 A4 owner, I would say this is the best transmission I ever drive, it is very silky. Also if you want best of it, keep the steering and engine in dynamic mode it is more respond like a different car. Also, when you are first car in left turn and left turn road signal turn green, hit the gas paddle all the way, the Quattro will lock you on the road like a fast roller coaster. You have drive so much different cars, would you kindly recommend top 3 vehicles that is really low road noise and quietness, I am thinking getting my next car like an suv. Thanks

This is not a professional opinion, but if you like the A4, then you need to consider the Q5. It's basically an A4, just in crossover form. I drove one a year ago and I loved it. I can't wait for my Acura MDX lease to be up in 10 months because I think that's going to be my next car!

Brando Wouldn’t say that. It all depends on how you tick the boxes. Like in this video, at least technically nearly none are ticked. I have a nearly fully full spec A5 Sportback 2020 with everything black. With the virtual cockpit flat steering wheel, carbon trims in the interior and Leather on the surfaces I get a quality that’s higher then the average A6 or A7 I see on the roads... As I’ve said: Tick the boxes wisely

I have this same car pretty much except mine is a 21 A4 S line. Apparently beginning in 2021+ the engine was updated from the somewhat unreliable EA888 gen3 to the gen 4 which has a new turbo from Garrett and other redesigned components. I’m sure it’ll still have its flaws, nothing is perfect, but it at least goes to show that the German brands are becoming just as if not more than reliable than Honda or Toyota. Honda recently ranked lower due to the quality issues transmission issues recalls etc. I know this will make the boomer owners and Honda Toyota fanboys upset calling German cars money it’s junk etc, but trust me, they’re not. All I had to put into the car was 1200 bucks and that’s because I got 4 new continental tires top of the line, front end alignment, oil change, and rotors. The benefit of Audi compared to bmw or Benz is that because they’re essentially luxury vw you can get parts relatively cheaper if something does go wrong. Overall, went from an HR-V to the A4, very happy. I did buy it used, got extended warranty, but I’m not worried when it goes out. I did my research and the majority of the stuff I’ve seen is positive.

Actually if you average the sales for the past 4 years 2017-2020 the a4 outsells the tlx and that not counting the a5 sales. As for the new tlx although it a massive improvement over the old one, the plastics on the door are pretty bad. If you think that Audi is cost cutting on the a4’s interior, the q5 is a lot worse with the harder plastics.

With the B9 driving around in D mode seems to not deliver the same torqueness as in S mode. Applying a little bit of gas in D mode causes a noticeable jump in RPM to make power/torque. I seem to recall the B8.5 D and S mode only differed in that S mode would hold a slightly higher rpm, at any speed. However, unlike the B9, D mode in the B8.4 delivered the same progressive torque/power through the RPM band.

One thing I seriously hate, my 2020 A5 Sportback in Dynamic (standard D) has so much throttle lag from a stop it’s actually scary. Unless you keep it in S or manual mode, you crawl from a stop and contemplate your death anytime you need to merge into traffic.

Kamil Dylewsk I do own a 2019 Audi A5 sport back which is essentially the same as A4 B9. The engine is really quite and the wind noise is hushed. I drove a 2019 c300 and it’s engine seems really rough at low rpms.

Kamil Dylewski They are riding on different platform. European Passat is on MQB. American Passat is on a really old platform. So in either case, a4 should be noticeable quieter than Passat. One thing is that my car has the s-line package which replace 18 inches wheel with 19s. The ride is firmer and may create more tire noises. If you want a comfort ride. I suggest you stick with 18s wheels
