2020 Bike Trip...ish A bit of the NC500, Glencoe, Eilean Donan, Bealach na Bà, Applecross & Torridon

Thanks to the C-word we had no big European Motorcycle Tour this year so had a weekend away in the stunning scenery right on our doorstep. We head to The Green Welly stop for breakfast and a great chance meeting with Matt and Andy -

Then up through Glencoe to Eilean Donan Castle for a bun, Kyle of Lochalsh for stupidly expensive fuel then over the hill at Stromeferry (no ferry) East to Fortrose for a night at The Anderson -

Next day, head back West taking the A896 to Torridon, Applecross and the - not for the faint hearted - Bealach na Bà (try not to laugh at the Lamborghini) then we run out of time and have to head back via the A9.
Sheep, beer, highland coo's, stunning stags friends, good food, scenery, motorbikes, sunshine, roads, hills and fun... this wee trip had it all!

I came across your channel about 2 months back and my wife and I watched all your videos over a weekend. We like them so much we are now watching them again. We live in Canada and would love to Travel Europe & the UK sometime. Unfortunately she will not get on the back of a motorcycle so we will have to do it by car. Hello Fraser, My husband Tony and I are really enjoying watching your videos on KZbin. Because we cannot get out on our bikes in Ireland it is so nice to watch your trips. You have been to many places that we have enjoyed on our bikes over the years in Europe and it is bringing back such happy memories to us. You have also been to places we have not yet visited and from watching your videos, we now want to visit e.g. Slovenia and Poland. (We were supposed to go to Italy, Austria and Slovenia in May 2020 but had to cancel due to Covid-19). We also really enjoyed watching your trips in Scotland (the scenery is very like the West Coast of Ireland which we have enjoyed on the bike). We have been invited to Scotland a few times by a Scottish biker friend and having watched your videos on KZbin we are definitely planning on going, when it is safe to do so. @@travelsonmymotorbike Yes but we have no midgets ... and Tony said to tell you we have lots of nice beers and lovely Irish chocolates for Helen. You would be very welcome. The weather is usually very nice here in May and September (and at other times too) you can be lucky. We hosted some friends from Scotland and the UK on a trip on part of The Wild Atlantic Way in May 2019 on their BMW R1200 Cruisers and they loved it. We were planning to complete the Wild Atlantic Way route with them last year but unfortunately as you know Covid-19 hit us all! We are allowed "out" again next week (the lockdown is being lifted a little) - Tony has his bikes "primed" and ready to head into the mountains - we cant wait. bye & thanks Anne.

@@travelsonmymotorbike Yes still in Sicily for the moment, and I hope it last for the next 10 years or so lol. Started my European Tour on 16 July, made it to Stelvio then the bike started sputtering everytime I rolled past 4K RPM. Made it home safely and trip is up on KZbin as well... Here's to looking at a better 2021 for us all.

Great vid as always. And I agree: The coastal road to Applecross is something else, it is more than just spectacular! 👍 I love it! We did it last year by car and will do it this year with our bikes. With the car it took us almost a full day as we stopped all the time to take pictures or just soak in the beauty of the landscape!

Thanks for another awesome adventure. You do such a great job of showcasing the scenery, the things to look for as you spend hours on the road compressing them into just the right amount of time for the viewer to keep us fully engaged. Applecross pass looks beyond amazing, but so does Glencoe. To ride those routes is on my bucket list for sure. Maybe it’s my wife’s and my Scottish heritage that tugs so hard at my heartstrings, but watching this in lockdown from our home in Canada makes me so long for a time when we can travel again and experience the beauty that this route showed us exists in abundance in Scotland. Loved the video. I got brave or mad last September and done Scotland for a week on my own which nice to do what I wanted which you can't when there's a few of you. The garage you stopped in near skye Bridge brings back nightmares when I filled up as some idiot in a Blue jag couldn't wait two minutes for me to pay for my fuel and pushed between my bike and the wall. Needless to say I was best pleased with him 👹

So I retired and moved to France. Still get the midgies though. Egyptians never in Scotland they were very small and could not get over Hadrians Wall. Scottish Glockner? You lied!! You have more than 1 day of sunshine how did we miss them? Are they reserved for the Scots? Another great video showing Scotland at its best. @@travelsonmymotorbike i have family ties to the lake district so the north of the UK is a rather normal place to spend a summer for me :-)..... this was the first time on a bike tho :-) riding solo with no set plans made for a very enjoyable vacation clocked up 8500km in 3 weeks across most of northern europe and i managed to hit Scotland in the middle of a heatwave so averaged 24-26deg every day for a good week and it didnt start raining until i crossed the border back into England :-D
