@@vhines10 he forgot to mention in the video the 3-year free PMS, 5-year General Vehicle Warranty, and the 10-year Power Train Warranty. Those only emphasize Chery's quality confidence on their vehicles; if that doesn't reek of reliability, I don't know what else it reeks of.

@FatherDamaso SepSepDeButu Did I say I was? All I am saying is for that size of a car with 7 seats to only have a 1.5 turbo with 140+ horsepower is very low. If you compare it to a Honda Jazz, a Jazz has the same engine 1.5 liter with 130 horsepower but is much lighter.

Not my intention to be a "kill joy" but yes i agree that having all those great restures at a very affordable price is a nice deal, you cant remove the fact that most of car owners still considers these Chinese brands are not "par" with the likes well-known and tested brands like ford, toyota, mit, honda, etc. Thats why the banks require higher dp for the loan approval or sometimes these brands are not even included in their auto loan portfolio. Since the banks also view these brands with low resale value if ever hindi i fully pay ni client at remata ni bank. Dont get me wrong i know the are trying to prove their brands now but these are just feedbacks from colleagues working at auto loan dept. I even remember there was a time these Chinese brands were tagged as "lemon car". You can search the web for more details. But overall, they provide more options and competitive pricing.

We are looking for a 7 seater SUV tlaga and we come up getting Nissan Terra VE, VL or Hyundai Santa Fe. Then nakita ko sa isang site while looking for more 7 seater car options and may car pala na Chery Tiggo 8 Luxury Ex, we watched different reviews here in KZbin and became interested. The next day we visited a Showroom to see the car. Maganda siya talaga in person and the features, solid for the price, like yung 360 view na kinoconsider ko kasi barumbado mg drive wife ko, is nasa Nissan Terra VL variant na and worth 1.9m+ but this one is just 1.3m+ with panoramic sunroof pa. Yung aircon panel is parang sa Range Rover na wala sa Terra and Santa Fe. The engine is from BorgWarner which is an American Brand naman, malakas hatak and response nya pag naka sport mode, pag eco mode nman mejo delay lang sa una but ok na pag umaandar na. All in all ok sya, sa porma, features, warranty panalo tlga for the price prang Eurocar kasi datingan. Pero still Chery has the stigma na low-end and knock off kasi Chinese brand, pero that was before siguro. Chery now I believe has already gained a lot of experience since 2012 they have a joint venture with Jaguar Land Rover para gumagwa ng Jaguar and Land Rover (Range Rover) sa China to distribute in Asian Countries. Siguro we need to be open minded to accept na iba nrin tlga ang build quality ng Chinese brand ngayon. Even expensive Iphones are designed in California but Made In CHINA, karamihan ng Top Brands ngaun specially sa Gadgets and Appliances in the market are all Made in China khit expensive brand pa yan. Btw, ng pareserve na kami the same day after the test drive and so happy about it. We made that decision not because of money, but because we trust the experienced people behind the Brand na nag brain storm to make that Chery Tiggo 8 Luxury Ex at siguro practicality nrin, its just a car perehas lng tayo ddlin nyan sa pupuntahan ntin, importante comfortable. Also for them to offer a 10yrs warranty is pure confidence walang ganyan sa iba - yan din siguro selling point. Well sa mundo kasi Brand tlga tinitignan ntin at iba iba tayo ng priorities pero if you put Range Rover Logo on this car with same features, for sure the price will come up instantly to 5m+. Sa pag bili ng auto parang negosyo, you have to take calculated risk. Kaya sa mga hunting ng cars ngayon at nag hehesitate sa Chery Tiggo 8, be open minded. Wag pairalin ang emotions sa China. hehe. Peace! Bawi nlng ako sa next bike ko the BMW R9T.

It's mostly because it's from China. And it's not because of what you may think. It's got more to do with the fact that China is already an LHD country just like us. So manufacturing cost-wise, they don't need to make conversion or seperate factories to produce LHD cars for the LHD market (which is the case for Thailand made cars which is RHD and where their biggest market is RHD not LHD). So yeah, lesser costs in making a product for us and due to how similar conditions are with us, what China usually gets we also get here. Plus transportation is already really really really cheap. Boat transfers from China are cheaper than if it were to come from Thailand. Plus with the free-trade agreement we have with China, it's a no brainer.

Or it is better to say that these well known brands Toyota, hyundai Honda should also step up and give us more features? Check the geely coolray same thing tons of features but not that expensive. It has 5 year warranty and Tiggo has 10. And geely owns volvo. I think we should accept the fact that China car manufacturers are catching up. Same goes with smart phones. A huawei phone worth 50k can compete to a 75k Samsung or a 100k iPhone. Or even a realmi cellphone worth less than 30k can compete with other flagships.

these chinese cars interiors are on point. I'm still unsure about the long term reliability and parts availability but damn the bang for buck ratio in chinese cars are good. the japanese manufacturers should take not on this because brand loyalty goes out of the window if theae chinese brands keep pumping out these upmarket feeling cars without costing your soul

The only point there is, long trips will make your joints numb if you can't stretch your legs. So it won't be comfortable but yes you can endure that you can even go to sagada if you want.

Granted that chinese brands has a certain stigma attached to it. But we can't deny the fact that it is very enticing. Even certain japanese brands don't even have a reverse camera for a vehicle at 1.5 million pesos. At this price point with all the creature and tech comforts, it cuts the competition by a huge margin.

Zen S in my opinion, kung sanay ka na sa mga subcompact sedan kaunting adjustments na lang need mo sa mga SUV's like Montero, Fortuner, MuX, Trailblazer, Terra. Kasi may mga seat adjustments na yan for driver. Downside, if a beginner driver magddrive, malamang feeling niya truck ang dala niya when it comes to turning. Sana makatulong. Peace out. 😊

It's a Turbo engine. Based on reviews, even on Eco mode, this thing is a monster in speed. It even beats Honda CR-V in HP. It's just that, Tiggo 8 feels a little heavier than the CR-V coz the Torque in Honda's car is more than what this Chery car has. It's just a matter of preference. 😉 But in my opinion though, since I also own a 7 seater Xpander, if only this Tiggo 8 came in earlier and if I have learned about this thing earlier before I bought my Xpander, I would have chosen this or the XL7 of Suzuki. Both are more unique, the XL7 is more affordable than my Xpander and the Tiggo 8 is more feature packed and has better interiors and engine than my Xpander but this Chery's model is a tad bit more expensive than my Xpander but again, Tiggo 8 has more to offer. 😉

It's like buying a Samsung Note 9 vs Oppo yung Oppo may camera pop up etc but reality is software support and longevity is better on the Samsung. It is the same here for now. And oh yeah, the last time Chery was here in PH they disappeared and left a lot of owners scratching their heads. You dont see a lot of cherys anymore after that. I hope they stay though but for 1.3m go with the Innova or even Geely as they are much better
