Bravi. As a pianist I must congratulate Elizabeth Ames for her wonderful playing of such a tricky piece.

Thank you Salvador and Liz for this awesome performance. It's been difficult to find good recordings with piano and this has now become my favourite!

I am using Vandoren Blue Box Strength 3’s on the Delangle Mouthpiece! Loved the response and sound that combination was giving me. I’m glad you enjoyed!

What was the decision to not play the altissimo on the second page? Just curious! Amazing performance!

When I perform this work paired with piano, I prefer the sound of that passage down the octave. When I play it with orchestra, I play it as written up the octave because of the timbres and ranges of the orchestral instruments. Just my personal musical preference :)

Exciting, top notch performance. My favorite Ibert piece. Pianist also did a great job with the tricky chamber orchestra reduction. They both made it look easy. Enjoyed it. Sad that modern 'composers' don't seem to have the craftsmanship or inspiration to create anything remotely comparable. A troubling statement about our times.
@edmondforest29124 жыл бұрын
You’ve never heard of Barry Cockcroft, David Biedenbender or even michael Nyman right? There’s plenty of great composers nowadays, and the fact that you can’t see it is what’s truly troubling. Still, if you are to criticize those geniuses, i would kindly ask you to go ahead and fix that problem by creating anything comparable to Ibert’s chef-d’œuvre.

@@edmondforest2912 no way you put barry cockcroft in the same discussion as ibert ☠️☠️ i agree that "classical" saxophone seems to be growing more and more popular with a host of really cool rep to show for it though
