Huge thanks to www.ducatiusa.com for sending out this 2020 Hypermotard 950 SP for me to ride and to all of you for recommending that I try it out. I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. It's got a perfect amount of power and torque to have a lot of fun but its still super easy to ride at the same time.

The Hypermotard was designed with a dirt bike “ aesthetic”... the “Look” of the Motards, but it is 100% a STREET BIKE...! A track & curve carving BEAST... the comfort of a naked, upright seating style... you would KILL yourself taking it off-road... I have a 2018 Hypermotard 939 SP, it’s my favorite thing I have ever owned... I LOVE IT... I also still race motocross at age 62... but on a KTM... NOT a Hypermotard...! LOL

I’ve had the hyper since it came out in 2008.A guy in California made a 6.5 gallon tank for it and I engineered a windscreen to keep the wind off my body, only 2 bolts hold it on it’s clear and doesn’t detract from the looks.I do remove it when not on a long tour.Im 5’7” and am not bothered by the hight.The bike gets admired by many people.I have had 14 different bikes in my life and this one is the coolest one I’ve owned.Ive made white stickers for the tank and beside DUCATI it reads “ThunderCat” each to his own,I’ve installed the Termignoni racing exhaust and it does THUNDER ! I Love the power delivery and handling-This bike is a Blast !!!

Road one while my bike was in service and fell in love instantly. Didn’t like the looks, didn’t like the height, and on paper it certainly seems to be nothing special. But then you ride it - the fueling of the engine is perfect. It’s perfect in a busy urban environment - you can see, it’s super agile for filtering, it can soak up potholes and it’s really comfortable. Flipped my bike after the service for one of these, and couldn’t be happier. If you can’t have fun on this motorcycle see your doctor.

I’m blessed to be able to have three street bikes, one of which use to be a BMW S1000rr, that I really liked when I was riding big open sweeping canyons at undisclosed speeds. But I found that unless I was pushing limits I wasn’t really enjoying the bike, that’s when I decided to trade it in for the Ducati Hypermotard 950. This bike is a blast! On tighter canyon roads I can keep up with 1000cc sport bikes no problem, but at the same time when I’m just moving around town even with traffic this thing just puts a smile on my face because of how flickable the bike is along with having all that low end torque at my disposal at slower speeds. But beware, if you thought that you were never the hooligan type, this bike will turn you into one, 😂😂😂😂

Not bad as an only bike, but I do agree it’s best as a second bike. My 20 Hypermotard SP is a second bike to my 20 S1000RR. There are a bunch of mods to do build series with. DucaBike clear clutch cover, super lite sprocket & chain upgrade, motogadget mirrors, evotech protection, louiemoto seat cover. The list goes on. I just did the clear clutch cover and my Austin racing exhaust just came. Can you tell I’m hype about my hypermotard. 😂 good stuff keep up the great work! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 P.S. Kevin, For now I did just the slip on, I want to see how loud it is and also if there is any noticeable difference in power. Haroldsblog is correct you shouldn’t need a remap. In my experience I’ve turned my bikes even with slip on exhaust since I’m changing the stock configuration and also because bikes come from the factory on the lean side to meet emissions. In any case I’m going to wait until after I’ve put a little seat time on the bike with the new exhaust before I make the decision to de-cat and or tune the bike.

@WStar4Life4 жыл бұрын
Have you ridden a Dorsoduro? Ducati has better specs but the Dorsoduro is bulletproof has been using the same motor since 2007, just been stroked out on the newer 900 and upgraded the electronics. They can be had for $8500 all day and I got mine for $6500 out the door during a sale. Also, look at the failure rate of the Hypermotard over the years and then tell me it’s a better bike. Snowcat had problem after problem after problem and was hurting Hypermotard sales by posting everything that happened with his Hypermotard. Ducati made him sign an NDA before they would do a buy back.
@oneonlyxram4 жыл бұрын
@@WStar4Life Easy there bud, I should have prefaced that with "in my opinion". Yes I've ridden the Dorsoduro, there's a review of it on my channel, I agree with what you say about it. Solid bike for sure, but to me the hypermotard is more fun, has better handling and feel, and is lighter than the Aprilia. Of course you can get one cheaper, the 950 sp is only a year old, however you can get a 939, an 821, or 1100 for under 10k. I have a good friend that owns the 950 sp and beats the h$ll out of it, track and street, it still runs great. So you might need to not only hang on to one person's bad experience to form a solid opinion of something.

oneonly xram oneonly xram the stock suspension setup on the Dorsoduro sucks but once it’s adjusted to you it’s not bad. Also the stock Dunlop’s suck. It’s night and day when you adjust the suspension and get better tires.

Ducati has made a descent bike. Hyper mortard looks bad ass and if it comes in black, it will look killer. It has mirrors for people who use is for commuting, if they do. Good part is that most of the torque is delivered in the mid range coz if you ride in real world conditions you will mostly ride in the mid range RPMs. Big seat means you can have a pillion as well without much of a hassle for short rides. Overall I feel it is a good bike to use and will make you look 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Nice to see you guys after a while. Have fun n ride safe. 👍🏻

Similar to your experience, I would laugh out every time I hit the gas (especially in track mode), I was laughing so much it was like I turned into the freakin Joker!! Most reviewers only compare the Duke to the Street Tripple and MT09, but spec wise (not price) it's most like the Hypermotard you just rode. I have a 939 and two things I absolutely hated about the bike was at low speeds in 1st gear the accelerator was extremely choppy. Also, at around 6k rpm under hard acceleration the power would dip then have an abrupt surge. Luckily, the full Termi exhaust and the up-map took care of the 6k surge, making the power much more linear and the low speed choppiness almost disappeared. Did you notice any of these issues with the 950 in stock format?
