I know a lovely lady very careing who I met on a pilgrimage and kept in touch with via email. The long and short of it was when I asked about the ladies Parish she couldnt name one, she claimed to be Catholic by Baptism and certaiy new the Prayers as I observed but she didnt Jesus or the Word of Christ. I told the lady on the pilgrimage of my illness and my past experience of Budhist Meditation and Hindu Meditation from when I was a young man 27 years ago and how awful it was. I said the Meditation is relaxing but I didnt believe the Religious Philisophy of it I believe in Jesus. But I wasnt always Catholic and didnt always know Christ. Later through emails over two years I learned this lovely lady wrote Books on Meditation, travelled to the Pacific to study Hinduism, Yoga in fact anything of the new age. She even hinted she was a white witch and was Psychic, she let it slip she was a Shamen. She was a Reiki Practitoner, advertised as an International healer. Before knowing this I had joined her Whats App Group. The People on there talked about God some even took a nod to Jesus and Churches but there was the core of Reiki, Yoga, Hinduisim but not quite any real religion just pure New Age no Jesus. I also noticed people talking about getting to know God through meetings but on checking these, they were esoteric New Age God Gnostic and not any Christian belief nor Catholic , Protestant or any other Christian Church. I had got into my Catholic Faith the last few years through Daily Mass, Days of Renewal, Adoration, Daily Rosary, Guidance from a Priest. Had Deliverance Ministry Prayed over me from Catholic laity, gone to regular Confession, in fact my life became more about living for Jesus than myself. I think what I am saying is the New Age is seductive but scratch the surface and the People who practice have no bounds sometimes it starts with meditation all the nice stuff the you hear not just about pagan practices but I heard about people telling fortunes though handling bloody dead meat. Some people are returning to real Paganism. I heard her talk about the light but its not the light of Jesus. Lets act on what Father and the Bible Say and go to Mass, Read the Bible, Pray the Rosary. Ps, She was on the Pilgrimage because she said the apparition was through Magnectic Energy not God. I thought why does this Energy Make our Lady Apear and say such a Profound call back to Jesus ? How come its not Allah or Buddha but Apparitions of Our Lady and she's Calling us to Christ in the Catholic Church not to the New Age or Islam or Hinduism, or Budhism. The answer is its Jesus only in the Trinity in the Catholic Church

I do yoga stretches nothing else for about 3 hours a week I spend at least 2 hours in prayer a day. I don’t feel any guilt doing it

The priest wasn't talking about guilt mammy-O. He was referring to possession. Typical Irish Catholic to jump for the guilt button. When you encounter possession even once, through reiki or yoga, it is a physical phenomenon. I suppose you never listened in RE class either, or were gobby to the teacher. Typical.
