Strike 1: He was going to win the championship. Strike 2: It would have been Ferrari’s first champion since Kimi. Strike 3: It was at his home track. All that hope… and it crumbled after one mistake… ONE MISTAKE… and Vettel has yet to return to championship contention. You have to feel bad for the guy, the first 4-peat champion since Schumacher and is currently struggling. It honestly makes me really sad.

@@allainangcao28 imo even if seb didn't commit errors in 2018, lewis would've still won the title. people forget that mercedes out developed ferrari at the 2nd half of the season. tho perhaps the title race would've been tighter. still that 2018 hockenheim race was the most painful as a seb fan. hope he gets 1 more chance at a 5th title run in the future.

@@marco3943 just because Lewis has a better car doesn't mean he's better and can take the championship from Seb, Sebastian is the best driver on the grid, its just that the Ferrrari chassis was heavy which makes it not so stable unlike the Red Bull which has the best chassis so its very stable, and if Seb joined racing point in 2020 he could win the championship because the floor was very stable and made it the 3rd best car unlike this year's car the AMR21 which has a bad chassis and made it the 7th best car, but still he showed that he can battle Hamilton with it if they get close

Without a doubt, Vettel Germany 2018 was the biggest heartbreak of this entire clip. Everyone felt it. It was the nail in the coffin. The end of the title fight and the end of Vettel as a number 1 driver in Ferrari. Words cannot describe how heartbroken I was and I wasn't even wanting Vettel to take the championship. But he deserved to have won that race and this was just too much.

I just remember being so amazed by his performance. He blazed in first place in a car he had only gotten into that week, and then after the pitstop issue he got even faster and still looked like he would win with the massive disadvantage. I honestly never knew just how much talent that guy had until Sakhir. I'm sure it was disappointing for him, but for the fans it was something special.

They had plenty of time to tell the crew to get ready. Apparently there was delays in communication due to the team, strategists upstairs and the pit crew downstairs.

@Silver Arrows Maybe you didn't read them properly. All I have said was Stroll deserves to keep that seat. When the decision was made he had a very strong case for it. I am honestly tired of the narrative that Stroll keeps it because of the money, which is just false. All i hear is how everyone is sorry for him, but that's F1. many deserving have lost their seats, Perez is no special. I don't hate the guy. In fact, i am rooting for him to get the RBR seat. Opportunism really is a quality. Every win counts.
Kimi has extremly many situations to choose from. His whole McLaren time could be shown there. Nürburgring 2003 might have been the worst because it costed him the 2003 title. Also Spa 2008 was very hard to watch.

The fact that Checho's biggest heartbreak was outside of the track just shows again that he deserves a drive for 2021

I was there in Bahrain, watching the 2019 race and supporting Charles. Was so happy to see him winning, but the moment his voice blared over the speakers over the last few laps, the entire grandstand fell silent for a few seconds and then the Hamilton fans started murmuring excitedly. Was so heartbreaking to feel that.
