A trip to Watkins Glen on Seneca Lake, NY - taking in an IMSA race combined with camping would be my pick. This truck is beautiful and sure it would make an amazing companion to take the 5-6 hour trip from "downstate" NY and then a tailgate vehicle at the track.

@anantdabholkar6854 жыл бұрын
Regarding hubs, they are manual rather than auto locking hubs, because manual are much more reliable, and you can engage them while stopped. The front and rear wheels have to be spinning the same speed to engage auto locking hubs, so if you are stuck in the snow, the front wheels won't be spinning and can't engage.
@MicahMuzio4 жыл бұрын
Yes! This is the answer I was hoping for. Thanks for chiming in!
@tangydiesel18864 жыл бұрын
Actually, that's a common misconception. The manual option is if you have a vacuum leak and the hubs won't lock, since they are vacuum operated in the auto position. Nothing is there to keep them from locking when stuck, since the axle will rotate, lining up the splines, unless a person is crazy on the throttle, creating a huge speed difference between the two. The tire can be rotating or not. Now, if you have hubs that have the option of 'Free' and 'Lock', vs 'Auto' and 'Lock' then yes, you need to lock them in to use 4wd.
@terrorgriller99754 жыл бұрын
The main reason though is in cold climates, auto locking hubs can freeze and fail from accumulation of water. Always best to have the manual option as a safety backup plan.

I get excited everytime I see any Ford Limited Truck, I go "Look a Limited!" and I'll know if it is or not. I can really damn well tell deeply. Doesn't have to say Limited on the front like how they do it on the F150s. Can tell by the grill and tires.

As far as exterior esthetics are concerned, I liked the 2016 models better. The redesign in 2017 was a complete fail IMHO, especially the front end. As for the interior, it's okay, but nothing special, and certainly not reflective of an $88K price tag. I'm sure it's a decent truck, but I wouldn't give it a second look. And I've owned GMC, Ford and Ram trucks, and they've all been really good, so I have no brand bias.

If you look ip loud lab news on youtube they just posted a video today of a supper duty slamming in to a Audi A4. So size does have something to do with safety.

Nice truck for sure. I personally wouldn't recommend anyone pay this kind of money for any vehicle when it can be better invested - especially when you are in your 20s to 30s. Never the less, still a sweet ride. Now, for Mr. know it all, here is a Ford design flaw that I'm sure you didn't know so let your mind be blown!! Ford's transmissions do not allow the driver to push down & forward to shift the transmission from Drive to Neutral in an emergency. Instead, you have to lift up on the shift lever and put it into neutral. Very bad design as you can accidentally shift it into reverse. This is not the case with Ram. So now you know. Hopefully, you didn't buy this vehicle and put your family's safety at risk.

Mass does equal safety. Because physics...
@MicahMuzio4 жыл бұрын
In an impact, mass is definitely helpful. To that I'll also add that a structure that slowly dissipates energy in a crash is also important. I"m not saying this is the case with the Super Duty but it's possible to make a heavy car that's not particularly safe. For proof, look at any American car from the 1970s. Lastly, mass has benefits in an impact but for some drivers agility and the ability to avoid a crash also contributes to safety. Tall vehicles with lots of mass placed high are also more likely to rollover in an accident. All things being equal, if I have to be in a crash it's better to be in a heavier vehicle but there are other considerations.
