Next time you're around the GM & Ford engineers ( Please ) ask the why they didn't put or at least offer a OEM Rear 5 link with Coil Spring Suspension w/optional OEM air bags on 3/4 trucks so we can finally get a smoother ride. Also please ask why they don't put an external Transmission filter with a drain plug on the pan. Something that could and would take 10 mins to service takes an hour, 34 rags and a headache just to service the transmission.

If the Diesel power-train is "almost twice as capable as the gas power-train" (19:19) then does that mean over 500 lb ft of torque for the new 7.3? Since we know Ford won't let Ram hold the top Diesel spot for very long, the 6.7 powerstroke will be over 1000 lb ft and based on that comment the gas 7.3 should be over 500! That would be pretty cool!
@zach74595 жыл бұрын

I think a lot of people who opt for the extra cost of a diesel do it because they could really use the power in daily or at least weekly operations. I believe this new 7.3 is similar in torque numbers to the old 6.8 v10 Ford used to offer in its pickups (still offered in medium duty trucks). I run a roofing and siding business and tow a 14k dump trailer, along with a tool trailer, (and camper). I have an 2004 f250 with a v10 and she is a bad bitch (I also put huge after-market leaf packs in the back, bilsteins all the way around, and built and installed a custom flatbed on it). I really like that truck and we still run her for work, 280k and not a single major issue (no issues with the engine or trans). That gas truck will get it done for 85% of what I do. But the truck really struggles towing the dump trailer fully loaded up hills. I live in a hilly area (U.P. of Michigan). I recently got a 2016 6.7 diesel f350 and it tows the dump trailer up those hills with ease, where as the v10 would struggle mightily. The difference is night and day, gas just can't compare with diesel. I think Ford is going in the wrong direction with this big block gas engine in 2020. I think this will be looked back upon as a stupid engine by Ford. I am excited to see widely available and reasonably priced electric pickups in the future that make diesel torque numbers look like nothing. Check out the "Rivian" to see what is just starting to come out. And don't get me wrong I love the rumble of a big block gas as much as the next guy with a pulse.

DI has been out for 15+ years. Carbon buildup is a boogieman created by guys selling $400 "catch cans" and companies selling chemicals they claim can remove those scary carbon buildups. They show pictures of BMW's and Audi's that had bad PCV designs that created terrible buildup, then tell everyone that all DI engines have the same problem which is bullshit. It's an age old tactic used by snake oil salesmen. Port injection is old, outdated, less efficient, and makes less power. Just like guys criticized port injection and favored carburetors because the first PI engines had problems, guys are now defending PI because DI is supposedly so bad. Mobil 1 put 500k miles on a 2015 Silverado with the DI 5.3 without a problem. Ford torture tested a DI only 3.5 ecoboost for nearly 200k without a problem. I've seen DI 5.3's scoped at 100k miles and the valves were nowhere near as dirty as the fearmongers claim all DI engines would be.
