We just purchased this 2020 Freedom Express 292BHDS from Haylett RV. For the money, this is the nicest bunk house out there. That front window adds a nice touch to the front end. Will be pulling it with a Ram 1500 Hemi with rear suspension air bags. Haylett RV has top notch service and has treated us very well, they are highly recommended!

Frank Sanna, how has your Ram 1500 with Hemi done so far with the 292BHDS? We have the same truck.

@@TripleB23 honestly it was too much trailer for the truck. We upgraded to a 2020 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi and it’s night and day difference when trying to stop a big heavy load. The trailer doesn’t push the 2500 around like it did with the 1500 when a semi would pass by.

I'm always referring people on and off of Facebook to Josh the RV Nerd on KZbin. Love the indepth videos and attention to detail. Been looking to move up to a bunkhouse for our family of 5. Currently in a 2019 Wolf Pup 18TO. Using a Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi Quad Cab. Really like the 29TE, but this unit has a lot of nice features. Really the only thing I don't like is no bathroom entry- if they had it another 2 foot longer they could squeeze in that bathroom entrance. Really like this Freedom Express shower though! And a restroom that doesn't require gymnastics maneuvers must be really nice! Love the storage layout too!!

That 29TE is a great model. A little longer than this one still, but the features/layout are awesome I won't lie though. I have such a sweet spot for these Freedoms...

I have a 29se which is similar floor plan. In order to access entire camper with slide closed we leave the bathroom door open when we close the slide and store the table upside down on top of bench on the dinette. This provides enough room to get through to bathrooms.

Not being able to access the bathroom while the slide is in is an automatic no-go. My kids have to use the bathroom all the time when we travel and its so nice to just pull over and let them use the bathroom.

What if kids fall off these mounted thst high bunks? Why none of the bunkhouse type rv's got none of the falling off protecting features? That reason really stops me from buying on of these!

If you have kids prone to rolling around a lot (like my daughter), then you'd want to get a bed rail of some kind added. There are plenty out there thankfully If that's all that's stopping you, then give our team a call. Think of it like a stipulation to a purchase. "I would agree to this RV on the condition you add an upper bunk safety rail at no extra cost to me." Stuff like that is super easy for us to handle.

Josh, I think you alluded to this, but just to be clear... are both the heated and cooled air ducted through the ceiling vents in the master, living room, and bunkhouse?

Heat doesn't come thru the ceiling. There are circular heat vents that run thru the cabinets around the RV near the floor.

The taller the trailer, the more surface area for the wind to blow and add sway.

Taller is only one aspect of surface area which is what you're hinting at. Understand a slightly taller smooth skin trailer has VASTLY less surface area vs. a shorter corrugated sided trailer.

Great question. It does not. Generally speaking Coachmen does not plumb propane lines for their grills. Instead they use free floating coleman grills which can be used anywhere on the site rather than only next to the trailer

Is it okay to partially open a cable style slide on a Keystone?

Recommendations for cable slides are exactly the same as i described for the rack & pinion slide shown here. Schwintek slides are the only ones you really should put ALL the way in or out.
