2020 GMC Sierra proximity key programming using Autel IM508

Tried to program key to my truck and there is no signal at the antenna it won’t find a key

Great comment. We should all check the backup receiver before trying to program a key. Did you check fault codes? I'll bet a bad receiver would set a code.

@ it gave me a pending crankshaft and a pending evap but that is it and I swapped center consoles and it won’t work antenna will not find a key although a guy came first and programmed two keys but he manually programmed terrain keys and it did not work would not unlock or lock key was unresponsive the guy was shady and I did not pay him anything.the truck displays on the dash that the third key is ready to be programmed but the antenna will not find the key while it is placed in the cup holders

@@markmccormickkeys it was the wrong bcm in the truck I had replaced the entire dashboard on the truck and apparently you have too put all the original modules back in the new dashboard from the old dashboard….

Silverado should be the exact same. I stay away from AKL unless necessary. I'd do add key unless the customer is worried about the lost key being found by someone other than the owner. Thanks for the compliment.

Question my 19 gmc sierra denali has an issue were it is required to start with the key fob in transmitter pocket every time I replaced the battery in the fob also tried to start on my second key fob and same issue key fob not detected any help be great

I'd scan for codes in the truck. It's unlikely that you have 2 bad keys. Are you sure you have the correct spot?

Yes it’s the pocket between the cup holders as it’s a Denali Trim

So when I put it in the spot it works just it makes me forget my keys and I get locked out multiple times now 😅 it will not allow me to start vehicle if keys are not placed in the transmitter pocket if that makes since
