170 is pretty high, 120 as you know is heat soaked.. what about a fan set-up like the triple pass you guys have,.. I use it and it helps a ton in traffic.. are you making a kit for the 2020 GT500? It looks like the intercooler brick helps alot.. at what price?..I think the only thing that really helps IATs is a ice tank but with that being said.. that's only good for drag racing.. so this looks like a great alternative for people that like to drive there car and race in other environments.. GREAT content hopefully we can get some real life data like on road or track.. can't wait to see what comes next!!!! Keep it up,

Luckily we start off quite a bit better from the factory vs the GM guys. Only setup they don’t get hosed on aftermarket is the DI2650. While obviously different for packaging reasons I believe the Odin is essentially the same set up cooling wise. Looking at the room left I bet a spacer could be used to get the plenum size and distance from the cooler back to stock.

What about going to one of these 81mm cores along with a Forced Induction Interchiller kit to cool things down between runs?

Nice! Do you also have an upgraded heat exchanger for the 2018+ GT VMP, Whipple, Rousch etc., Superchargers?

We offer a triple pass and dual fan set up for all '15 to current supercharged Mustangs that we've had great success with. Here's a link: www.vmpperformance.com/VMP-Dual-Fan-Triple-Pass-Heat-Exchanger-for-Mustang-05-18-GT500-5.0L-GT_6

Would a waterless coolant help any?
@VMPPerformanceTV4 жыл бұрын
We have experimented with that before and it does not help. My opinion is the intercooler system is a low-temp/low-pressure system and does not benefit from a higher boiling point fluid.
@DaveAN-gt5003 жыл бұрын
Question...You mentioned "pressure" drop as you increase the size of the intercooler brick, are you referring to "boost" drop? Sorry, still learning the lingo. You mentioned in the vid that the 81mm race brick is not recommended for everyone due to this drop. What do you recommend for stock GT500 owners as a first step mod? Mine is stock with only the JLT CAI, but I want to do mods one step at a time. Would upgrading the cooling system brick ONLY on a stock engine actually reduce the HP because of the pressure drop?
@VMPPerformanceTV3 жыл бұрын
Through further testing, we've found the 81mm to be the best option and no longer offer the 68mm. As for first/next steps, we don't see the intercooler core hurting your output and it'll prepare you for further modifications along the way.
@DaveAN-gt5003 жыл бұрын
@@VMPPerformanceTV Thanks for the feedback! I see that there may be some larger blower lids coming out. Would you recommend those larger lids to go along with the 81mm upgraded brick? Would you do one before the other or does it make sense to do them both at the same time? Any benefit to adding a larger lid that you see? Also, I assume that no Tune is needed for cooling upgrades like these? I will eventually do a tune and pulley but upgrading the cooling systems on the supercharger seemed like a good first step to prepare, like you mentioned. Thanks for your time!!

Since it isn't mentioned, what's the water inlet diameter for the 68 and the 81? One inch or stock?
@VMPPerformanceTV4 жыл бұрын
Hey Aaron, this version is stock for easy installation. Our core flows more internally due to the design, and we have not found a need for increased floating tube size yet. We are looking at offering a 1" AN fitting block for the blower.

do you know what intercooler pump the gt500 is using and what the flow rate is?
@VMPPerformanceTV4 жыл бұрын
It uses the pierberg cwa50 which was in the 13-14 gt500 too. It flows around 8 gpm which is pretty good, and the flow rate goes up slightly with the new core due to lower restriction.
