The Honda Civic sits atop the throne as the king of the compact car...or so we think. The competition has stepped up over the years and it's up to Honda to prove that it still reigns supreme. So, does the Civic still have what it takes to lead the pack? Let's find out.

I disagree on the center console, the entire configurable storage area including the recessed cupholders is sooo much more useful than the fixed alternatives on every other car.

Lane watch is great, I have it on my 2018 Civic EX sedan and I use it frequently to check traffic near me and prior to lane changes to right. I wish more cars had this feature.

I honestly like the idea of the camera, there are way too many people who do not check their blind spots.

I had a rental 2020 Civic for a weekend, base model though. Comfortable, drove nicely, accelerated very well. Took me awhile to figure out the Android Auto setup, the info screen as well. If you have a cup with a handle the cupholders aren't ideal. Gas mileage is great. Don't need eco mode. Civic visibility was better than my midsize car but not as good as the SUV I drive now. Also harder to get in and out of (too low). Not crazy about part of the climate controls being onscreen. But it's still a good quality car, every car has some quirkiness to work out.

The center stack is actually very nice. Not sure why you're complaining about it. It looks clean because it's able to hide the cupholders. It's able to hide the usb cable underneath so you don't see it when you connect it to your phone, and the console is very customizable. You can remove trays/separators you don't want.

Thank you for the "ride quality" comments. I want to get 2nd car and this is one of the cars on my list for affordability, but I was afraid it might not be a smooth ride. This gets my hopes up until I take one for a test drive and see for myself.

I believe they're getting rid of lanewatch camera on the 2022 11th gen Civic. They already swapped out the camera for traditional blindspot monitoring on the hybrid Honda Insight. For those wondering, the lanewatch camera is only on the right side. For the left side, you have to look over your shoulder, so blindspot monitoring will give you a left-side warning for your blindspot.

The more gadgets we put on vehicles, the less skilled drivers we have. If my side mirrors are adjusted properly, all it takes is me moving my head up or back about 8 inches to see everything there is to see in either blind spot.

I like the back of the sedan way better (no breathing strip) and find the center stack super handy. I leave a cable tethered to my phone holder on the dash. To the right of the steering. At 6’1’’, the seat cuts into my leg. Other than that, it’s perfect. I bought an obus form, problem solved. Nissan is junk. Love the screen that doesn’t pop out like an iPad afterthought. New 2022 Civics have the iPad screen.

Smh, you are complaining about the USB cord placement. Once you put a cord you don’t have to move it. Who takes there cord out every time they leave the car. Cords a $10, anyone driving that car can afford one. Stop Trying to find things that are wrong.

How is the visibility? I know the Mazda 3 especially after resign struggles significantly in this category. Don't get me wrong, the Mazda looks fantastic. The design is beautiful! But I'd rather have safety than beauty.

I am wondering in the case of losing breaks while driving, in the past there was a Hand Break which helps you to stop the car mechanically by raising up the Hand Break bit by bit to stop the car gradually, so how the driver can do that with the Push button Emergency Break?

Don't know, but from everything I've read and watched, the CVT has greatly improved since the beginning days. Most or all of the bugs are out of it, and I am told that they last much longer now.

@@watchmanonthewall14 i certainly hope so sir, i guess the cvt is the way to the future for transmission technology. It worth to note that cvt was so fuel efficient compare to traditional transmission which something i like about cvt.

Honda claims they fixed it. It's still unknown if they did or not, but the na 2.0 will likely last much longer than the turbocharged 1.5.

@E4U Desi Channel the NA engine has the best likelihood of obtaining high mileage with the fewest repairs and least cost of ownership.
@hermanwooster8944
@hermanwooster8944 3 жыл бұрын
@E4U Desi Channel NA = naturally aspirated, as opposed to a turbocharged engine. He is endorsing the 2.0l engine. As a very general rule, larger, naturally aspirated engines last longer than smaller engines with turbo chargers.
@hermanwooster8944
@hermanwooster8944 3 жыл бұрын
@E4U Desi Channel There are a lot of factors that go into MPG estimates including the weight of the vehicle, how fast you accelerate, and how much you drive in the city versus on the highway. The Sport and LX trims are so similar that I can't say that one will be definitively better than the other. You might find the Sport gives you the same or better mileage, but if the Sport does give you only 32 MPG, then all that means is you will have to fill up the car with gasoline a little bit more often. Depending on where you live and how much you drive, it will come out to spending approximately $50 more per year on gasoline, but you won't notice anything else. I don't think that sounds like too big of a difference, but it's solely up to you if that is worth it.

Exactly stay away from a turbocharged honda or any turbo gdi fuel in any car company in section engine oil dilution ruining it all keep the non turbo and if you can get the honda before gdi with just multi port fuel injection and they run forever same with Toyota I would only buy a honda or Toyota with a non turbo and non gdi im not sure of just God without the turbo no experience but if you want a 500k+ mile car buy a non turbo none gdi honda or Toyota
