My dad drives a 2017 Ridgeline RTL-T that he bought new in 2017. Has around 80k miles on it now & has held up well so far. The ride & handling are amazing & the seats are very comfortable. I don't know why Honda didn't give the Ridgeline a volume knob like they did with the Pilot.

They put the left over infotainment system they had in the civics. Everyone complained so they took them out. Guess they had leftovers. They put a new infotainment in the passports. Great review! Has anyone reported problems with the new 9 speed transmission? In recent years Honda has had problems with transmission reliabilty when paired to the 6-cylinder. I had to sell my 2014 Acura RDX because of what they called "The Shudder/Judder" issue. It was a well known (unfixable) problem with the 6-speed. The Ridgeline is very nice but Honda in recent years has had problems building reliable transmissions. :-(

The technology changes over the years. The 1st Generation Ridgeline 2006-2014 has those sail pillars or flying buttress in rear. That was done for strength Ridgeline is Unibody vs F-150 or Tacoma Ranger Body On Frame. Unibody pickup little bit harder to make than Unibody Crossover that ha D pillars that pickup trucks don't. I said to my wife, What do you think, my wonderful wife said, if you love it, I love it too! Jackpot, we went back the next morning and brought our truck. We have know regrets. I drive a porsche macan GTS, it's funny. I parked that Beast, and did not drive the porsche for three months. Great Truck, my advice, if you need a do it all vehicle, the Honda Ridgeline awd. Good review and spot on. It does 100% what mid size truck owners need/do. Comfort 2nd to none and I have owned all the trucks in this category. Tows just fine and carries as much or more than most plus the trunk and usability are great. As for off-road, I have a pecan farm down a 3 mile gravel/mud county road. This truck does great and I can fly down the road. I try to get the rear to break loose but it won’t...just pushes power to the outside wheels and I fly around corners tight. Can’t get it stuck at my place. I admit it is not a rock crawler but beyond that it is great off-road. I did put on the larger OEM flares and added AT tires (toyo open country AT 3 in stock size). Put on some nice decals and it looks awesome...stop watching and just buy it :).

I just wish it looked better... I can’t stand the exterior design and I love Honda. I think the Pilot and Passport look fine but this is just wrong...

If it wasn't for the fact I chose Tacoma, the Ridgeline and Gladiator are quite the competition and very unique vehicles in their own ways.

Can't wait for all the "it's not a truck, it's a car!" Comments like as if that's a bad thing.

Its funny how this truck clearly has the best in class powertrain compared to all of the other "real" midsized trucks.

Pretty set on trading in my Ram for a ridgeline. I always tell people that I like my half ton 95% of the time but the 5% I don’t like is REALLY annoying. Feel like the Ridgeline checks all the necessary boxes.

Im back here on this video in 2023 because i want a truck I want a Ridgeline Honda but I'm iffy and I want something good both for me and the earth I know it MIGHT SEEM silly but being nice to the earth.. now that's what I'm talking about ❤👍🥰

A less minivan-like appearance and a manual transmission would help IMO. But I don't think the target demographic for this cares about whether it has a manual.

Would you say the Ridgeline drives big, compared to other midsize trucks in the segment? It's almost as wide as a half-ton truck.

It's an impressive truck. No wonder Honda is selling so many of them.

Does the adaptive cruise control turn on every time you turn on cruise controller or does it default to “regular” cruise control first?

Transmission behave like a cvt if u are going off road transmission heats up and the vehicle needs to be stopped.

Honestly when I think of Honda, the last thing I think about them is trucks lol.

yeah, it shouldn’t even be considered a truck. it’s just a pilot with more trunk space

As good as these seem, I wonder why Honda doesn’t sell more of these.

@@austinle There's a whole video from the launch of this design back in 2017 where Honda engineer explains parts of the suspension and underbody that are different from the Pilot.

@@hixnada8278 because of ignorant people like austin and others who need their truck to make them feel like more of a man. where i live, it looks like 90% of the trds, zr2s, raptors, and gladiators have never been on anything other than asphalt or grass. freakin' poseurs....

I wonder if that truck is coming to Germany. Would absolutely buy one if it did.

Who else feels kinda disdained that the truck is being pushed to the limit with so few miles on it?
