My dad drives a 2017 Ridgeline RTL-T that he bought new in 2017. Has around 80k miles on it now & has held up well so far. The ride & handling are amazing & the seats are very comfortable. I don't know why Honda didn't give the Ridgeline a volume knob like they did with the Pilot.

They put the left over infotainment system they had in the civics. Everyone complained so they took them out. Guess they had leftovers. They put a new infotainment in the passports. My wife has the passport. Higher resolution, more responsive, volume knob. I'd wait for the refresh personally. Unless they give a deal on one of these.

I want one of these for my small truck duties. I had an f150 for 5 years and loved it but for hauling a jet ski and a dirt bike, the ridgeline is perfect. It was not out when I bought my f150 or I would have gotten one.

That day is certainly coming soon. I'm sure the only reason they're keeping the J35 around for the Odyssey and Pilot/Passport/Ridgeline is towing. Reliability of a turbo 4 that is towing 5000 lbs is questionable; constant turbo spool on heavy vehicles like those can't possible be good.

Great review! Has anyone reported problems with the new 9 speed transmission? In recent years Honda has had problems with transmission reliabilty when paired to the 6-cylinder. I had to sell my 2014 Acura RDX because of what they called "The Shudder/Judder" issue. It was a well known (unfixable) problem with the 6-speed. The Ridgeline is very nice but Honda in recent years has had problems building reliable transmissions. :-(

I remember the old Ridgeline, as a kid. I actually prefer this new one here more, this time around. Total redesign, especially on the body and front end. It looks so much more sporty and better than the obtuse-looking 1st gen Ridgeline.
@fredmoss4540
@fredmoss4540 3 жыл бұрын
The technology changes over the years. The 1st Generation Ridgeline 2006-2014 has those sail pillars or flying buttress in rear. That was done for strength Ridgeline is Unibody vs F-150 or Tacoma Ranger Body On Frame. Unibody pickup little bit harder to make than Unibody Crossover that ha D pillars that pickup trucks don't. Technology change so 2nd Generation Ridgeline looks more like traditional pickup truck. Now you have Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick Unibody pickup trucks entering market.

@5:13 is that a piece of the truck on the left?? That hidden trunk under the bed is the first I've ever seen, and makes Ridgeline my pick if I were to get a flatbed truck (along with the ride quality, etc. as you mentioned). That being said, I really enjoy watching your videos and your channel. Thank you for creating them!

@Gabe Hernandez that would be insane, I haven’t even thought about a lambo truck and don’t want to...😂 my brother has a 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro and it’s pretty nice but I feel like Toyota’s features, up until recently were outdated but that’s obviously to improve reliability. The F-150’s are super nice too. The 3.5 Ecoboosts with 10 speeds are fast as hell too

@Gabe Hernandez how old are you? When do you plan on getting your first car? Those cars are really nice but maintenance is pretty expensive on both but way more so on the BMW, they average $17k-18k over 10 years to maintain, not including any failures. Type S is pretty nice and cheaper to maintain, I have an Acura as well and love it. Get the SH-AWD and it’s almost unstoppable, I must say BMW’s xDrive is nice too and very capable

It’s the camera. Digital displays all refresh at certain rates per second. If that rate happens to not mesh well (to put it simply) with the rate the camera’s image sensor refreshes too, it’ll appear to flicker or disappear on video. It’s the same reason why lots of LED lights flicker on camera as well; they don’t do that when seen with your own eyes IRL.

I purchased a loaded AWD Ridgeline, white. My first experience was, I was watching a commercial on TV about the Ridgeline, how great a truck it is, blah! blah! Well let's go test it. After about 20 minutes of test drivivg, on my return to the dealer, we parked, I exited the truck, walked about ten feet away, looked back and said, I cannot believe this is a truck. I said to my wife, What do you think, my wonderful wife said, if you love it, I love it too! Jackpot, we went back the next morning and brought our truck. We have know regrets. I drive a porsche macan GTS, it's funny. I parked that Beast, and did not drive the porsche for three months. Great Truck, my advice, if you need a do it all vehicle, the Honda Ridgeline awd. Is it, hands down. it's the only vehicle I would consider. Great Job Honda! Perhaps the best truck ever made?

Good review and spot on. It does 100% what mid size truck owners need/do. Comfort 2nd to none and I have owned all the trucks in this category. Tows just fine and carries as much or more than most plus the trunk and usability are great. As for off-road, I have a pecan farm down a 3 mile gravel/mud county road. This truck does great and I can fly down the road. I try to get the rear to break loose but it won’t...just pushes power to the outside wheels and I fly around corners tight. Can’t get it stuck at my place. I admit it is not a rock crawler but beyond that it is great off-road. I did put on the larger OEM flares and added AT tires (toyo open country AT 3 in stock size). Put on some nice decals and it looks awesome...stop watching and just buy it :).

honda v6s has always been bulletproof and fast (the only downside being added maintenance with timing belts), my J35A6 2005 pilot does 0-60 in 6.9s, and that was a 15 year old family car.

So I’m looking between this and the accord as a family friendly car, this for versatility and the accord as a speedier option but I’m sad about all the hate this car gets from the truck fanatics.

Yea, it's not like they even offroad their trucks or use them to their capabilities anyway. A truck with a long bed is nice for work but that's not the demographic Honda is aiming at. You can use the Ridgeline to travel with your family and it's a nice car but when you maybe want to go mountain biking you also have that opporunity.
@hiv
@hiv 4 жыл бұрын
You can get a bin to put under the backseat to keep groceries upright and from rolling around. The trunk can be filled with ice for cold drinks after the sports games. And it should be durable enough to pass down in ten years.

I own a 2011 silverado and tow a 3000lb trailer ever day. I personally think those who say this Ridgeline isn't a truck is because they are stuck in some naive social norm. I've debated getting this for my business, but unsure if it would have the same longevity from towing daily. I'd say to you to go for this abd who cares what others think. Good luck. Either one of your choices will be fun!

While the 2020 does have Honda Sensing, it still does not have low speed follow or stop and go. So far the only Honda vehicles that will do stop and go (Unless changed for the 2021 model year vehicles) are the Civic, Accord, and Insight.
