Just picked up this plug-in, great info! So do we want to see pretty much flat across all freq, or do we want a little smile?

thanks! most importantly, find a a few reference tracks and run them through the voxengo span. Then compare your track. Find frequencies where your track might have too much or be lacking, and decide if that matters. Like, maybe your track is darker than a reference, but it's supposed to be darker...or, it's darker, but it's not supposed to be darker, then make adjustments. A smiley face is just a way to say that your track is probably lacking mid-range, which is a common issue, where you may have too much bass and too much high-end, but not enough warmth throughout the track.

Ps There’s also a great trick where you can play your song and your reference track simultaneously, color them both differently, and then compare side-by-side

It is supposed to have a dip at that area around 150hz. There's nothing to look out for.
