2020 KTM 690 SMC R Laguna Seca Track Day

This was at the Aprilia Racers day 7/18/22.
2nd Session. First half of this session was red flagged.

5:10: that typical smc r quickshifter problem. Had to happen at least once

Yeah it happens to me mostly 5th to 6th. I tried the factory pro shift detent and that didn't help but you just have to be firm with the shifts and it's fine. Not a big deal to me but I've seen a lot of 690/701 riders complain about it.

Installing a stronger locking spring helped a lot. They fixed this problem with the 22 smc r

So far my 23 shifts perfectly with the qs, maybe I got lucky or they updated it.

@@petebusch9069 pretty sure they updated it. It seems like it's the biggest complaint about these bikes but personally I don't care. Just have to be more firm with the shifter.

Power mods are Arrow slip-on, rottweiler intake, and PC5. Braking I have a Brembo RCS15 front master cylinder and Brembo Stylema caliper.

​@@relyt_gnast how do you feel about the brake upgrades? Only ridden mine on the street and felt like it comes to a halt pretty quick. Obviously I'm not pushing to the limit though like on track.

@@vwchris11 I think you should for sure do the Brembo RCS15 master cylinder. Stock one is ok but the RCS15 offers so much more feel and control. I don't think the Brembo Stylema caliper made that much of a difference. I'd just stick to the stock caliper.
