2020 Mercedes-Benz G550 | Review

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz G550 is touted as both luxurious and one of the world's best off-road machines. Does it live up to the hype on either end? Oh yes.
We took the MB G550 for a drive on our local trails and the fancy truck performed flawlessly. And it should with a starting price of $130,000 (and as-tested at $151,000).
Is the G-Class the king of the hill when it comes to luxury off-road vehicles? Absolutely.

It smokes it. There's less space, certainly, but the G-Class has evolved while the LX/Land Cruiser is stuck in time. And the Benz is of course much nicer inside, but it should be for the cost.

Do you know why the US isnt allowed to sell the G wagon without the brush guard? The European models look so much better without it.

It has to do with the way the trucks were certified in US crash testing. They were tested with the bars, so they have to be sold with the bars.
