Nissan could have put on this car the same floating infotainment system as the one found on the new Altima and Sentra and the engine of the high compression engine of the top end Altima. I wish that this is fun to drive like the Mazdas. Unless all these I asked are here and the rest of the bad things you listed are fixed, then I'll consider buying it.

This is a message for everyone leaving posts trashing the Rogue and Rogue Sport for not being able to tow a bulldozer, not being as fast 0-60 as a Ferrari, on and on.... Look, this and the Rogue are NOT SUV’s. They are crossovers, built on the Altima platform. It’s basically an Altima with a giant trunk. It’s not designed to tow anything. If you bought a Rogue and didn’t know this, that’s your fault for not doing research first. My 2017 Rogue is a great vehicle for me, because I understand what the vehicle is and what it’s designed to do. It is a CAR, with a lot more room than a regular car, designed to cruise 75 mph on the interstate and get 33 miles per gallon. That what the Rogue is built to do and it performs this task quite well for me. If I want to tow something, I use my Ram truck that sits next to it in the garage. If you don’t know that, need to tow something and bought a Rogue instead of a truck, it’s on you.

We 100% Agree with your comment. We just bought a new 2021 Qashqai(Only USA calls it a Rouge Sport) SL Premier. We also own a 2019 Tesla Model 3( Got into an accident just after Xmas,Still in body shop waiting for parts) We like the Qashqai over the Tesla and fully plan to sell the Tesla when we get it back. The Nissan Qashqai has better build quality way quieter/smother ride,All for half the price of a Tesla.

Really liked the review, good job! I own a 2017 Rogue Sport (known as "Qashqai" in my country, Costa Rica, built in England). I really like the sound isolation. Out of the box, the sound system is really good and the built quality has been great all these years. The 4wd lock is a nice feature missing in most of the compact SUV nowadays. As the reviewer mentioned, acceleration is awful and I wonder why Nissan has not worked on it since it has a somewhat powerful engine (2.0L). I don't plan to get the new one because the current generation doesn't address the outdated dash and the acceleration. I do hope to get another Rogue Sport, I love the model, the size and all the goodies but if those features don't get addressed, I will be getting a CH-R hybrid in the next couple of years.

Just drive a rogue sport as a rental. I am too surprised by the quietest and the comfort of the car. The infotainment system is easy to use with Apple car play. The transmission is adequate. Best CVT I have driven. Not sure about the long term reliability though. The power or lack there of is just not very inspiring but I came from 300hps V6 so it is not a fair comparison;) One more thing, the handling is superb! I threw that like car in a high speed corner and it handled like a champ. No excessive body roll like other bigger SUVs!

Hey ! I got a Nissan Rogue Sport 2019, ( which is a Qashqai in Canada), living in Quebec , lots of snow, feb7 th this year , we had a lot of snow in my hill street , was so fun going uphill with the 4x4 ! I luv it soooo much , very happy of my choice . Happy that the 2020, for few more features like memory seat, but I wish Nissan explains me why no lock glove compartments???,no heated mirror?, and (not essential but no electric trunk either ?) between the Honda HHR, or Mazda3, or the Hyundai Kona, I really think Nissan’s Rogue Sport is the best . but keep on mind if you have a family of 4 , it’s a small SUV, and too small for you, go with regular Rogue

This blew my mind when I found it in the manual; to enable the heated side mirrors you need to turn on the REAR DEFOG button.

I reviewed the Rouge Sport, or the Qashqai as we call it here in the UK. For the 2020 MY they decreased the petrol engine size from 1.5 litre to 1.3 litre, increased the turbo so power output is similar. One I had looks similar to the one you have here. Mine was white which really suited the car better than what you have.

I just bought a 2020 Rogue Sport and I have 2 major complaints that buyers should be aware of: It is grossly under powered and I have trouble accelerating when I suddenly need to, and second, it does't offer a dial pad on the touchscreen which I often need when in the middle of a phone call. If you are asked to select 1 for customer service, or 2 for the plumbing dept. etc, you can''t do it on your touchscreen because there is no dial pad. The dial pad is present on my 2018 Hyundai Kona but not on my 2020 Rogue Sport.

I heard that the regular Rogue is getting a redesign next year. The sport version should also get redesigned for 2021 along with the regular Rogue, otherwise the Rogue nameplate will be inconsistent due to the difference between the new Rogue and the outdated Rogue Sport. The design of the Rogue sport/Qashqai has been out since 2013 while the regular Rogue has been out since 2014, so the sport definitely needs a redesign, especially since the regular Rogue is getting redesigned

Does not shift at all as all cvts. They spool up. Two pulleys and a belt. as one pully opens up or spreads wider the other pully is closing up getting narrower to keep the tension on the belt the same. When a pully narrows the belt rides higher in the groove to simulate a larger diameter pully and as the open spread wider the belt goes deeper into the groove simulating a smaller diameter pully. A smaller diameter pully gives you more speed and a larger diameter pully gives you more grunt to get the vehicle moving from a stop. Just Google how cvts work to see this in action.

Good review. I drove a 2019. There aren't any subcompact SUVs that aren't terrible at getting up to speed on a freeway entrance ramp. I miss driving V6's, you felt like you had some power with a small vehicle. I think the SL is pricy for the category, it's $34,500. My sister has an Encore (Buick) and it's slow with 155 HP. I drove mazda CX30 that just came out and it probably had the best acceleration of any in this size. Although Mazda has history of poor paint issues. Lots of trade offs between brands it seems.

Which along with big fall off in build quality and reliability is why Nissan sales have plummeted. Both Nissan and parent company Renault are teetering on the line of financial trouble in addition to all the recent scandals within those companies. Look the Rogue is a piece of junk. I bought a 2017 fully loaded with 19 alloy, leather interior, even that regent orange or whatever the paint code Nissan calls it. This CVT Trans is one if not the worst on the market, I myself am having an issues. No SUV should have a 4 cylinder engine. Ask the dealership how much this thing can actually tow? It ridiculous how low it is. If you and your friends are on the larger side like myself and do steep hills be prepared for engine lights and trans overheating you cannot put oversized tires on this vehicle it will also cause trans to over heat. Costco had placed OVersized tires on ours and it sounded like it was dying the grinding and dealership had it in 4 damn times before one tech noticed tired where way oversized. The components are sub par had issues with the NAV system and surround shield. People if a company charges you premium for equipment that begins or fails within 6 months of ownership inferior product. Once the merger happened quality disappeared. I have a Nissan Skyline R34 in my garage which is over 20 years old and has given me fewer problems than the Rogue of just 2 years. People if you want an SUV go Toyota and go 6 cylinder. I could write a book on the issues with this SUV. Also check out Lemon Law class action lawsuits against Nissan. Huge wake up call folks. Also take the 19 in alloys and toss them stick with 17's you will get better quality of tire and usually longer life. Plus price a 19 to a 17 it will shock you, lol.

Toyota Rav4s are 4 cylinders as I've shopped them. As far as Rogue Sport, it's too pricy. A $34K is $32,500 on sale for a 2020 is ridiculous. I don't care for 19" wheels either. Not good in snow conditions. Also CVT has issues with the Nissans. It's a nice looking Nissan compared to others in the subcompact market, but I think it should be priced highest at $30K.

@@chandlerwhite8302 I understand what the Rogue is, it is shameful that this company won't take action even when shown how to recreate the event and confirm trans issue. I'm not impressed that with over sized tires ( unknown at the time) and three other people in car this vehicle that one gave my wife an anxiety attack first she ever had, two that this car was basically stoking out, over heating on steep hills and literally going into convulsions scared the shit out of us all. Three, The manual option refused to work. So place some max over size tires on yours proceed to highway with steep hills pass a few cars. trucks, within a few day I guarantee you will be taking your car for immediate service but told nothing is wrong as their Nissan Consult shows nothing. Take the Service manager on road and recreate the event several times showing him how to instruct his techs to recreate, plus they also refuse to accept any information you can provide as it's not from the consult program. Blu driver is one of the best on market and they say NOPE SM would refuse to ever view live data so what is this saying about product. I was a Mech. Eng for 21 years worked on Engine bigger that wife's Rouge. I came to the Service Center with a plethora or reasons or sensors that may be causing issues. I was using Nissan service manuals I located in EU as you can not find crap in North America to fix any new car. I asked to see their "trouble shooting template" was told due to Nissan privacy issues that was not allowed. This dealership in the end did nothing, had wife balling, and to this day refusing to take action with data given. They wish to research it more and charge us more money. Spent over several thousand, on parts fluids and scans, even when taking SM out and showing him how to have Techs recreate they refused as they stated it was a danger to staff. So driving highway speed, and passing uphill with over sized tires is dangerous WTF are you saying the only way to allow the Tech to experience it to make educated deductions is not safe but it's okay for my wife, friends and myself to drive an unsafe vehicle. I do not recommend this car to anyone on budget, or like the elevated stance as your over sized tires or voided warranty for modifying your suspension not sure about that but I know it would be used to get out of repair warranty. In my opinion the Rogue is sub par on all level's from personal experience. We have had issues with Electrical, Engine, Trans, and even suspension. How can tires need replacing within 1 year with horrible inner wall wear? I could rant all day, I'm done good luck with yours, Oh have to replace a rocker arm already also. GO ROGUE!!
