@@DirtObseXXion king quad is still way better than the Honda in every way. Even as far as reliability goes if Honda is more reliable it’s by a very small margin just like Yamaha. And definitely more reliable than the Polaris and Can-am. I do have a question I used to own an outlander 570 and it put out so much heat on my left leg even at higher speeds I found myself always riding with my left leg hanging off trying to cool it off. Is that anything that you guy’s experienced?

@@DirtObseXXion thanks for the reply and the info. I’m in the market for a new quad and have been having a really hard time deciding on what to go with this time. @@appaloosaman9616 Yeah most modern machines are going to have heat issues. The best thing about the Outlanders is that they punch up in power. A 570 Outlander has 700 class power and the 650 Outty will out perform 700s in terms of power. The Outlander 650 is one of the best bangs for the buck in my opinion (depending on what you're prioritizing)..

You are in the middle of the woods and have 1 gallon of gas left. Now which one is your pick? When I ride with my buddies on the trails we are typically 30mph or less so speed isn't a big factor. However they are looking pretty nervous after a few hours running the 700cc + bikes while my rancher 420 and foreman 500 still have plenty in the tank. Thanks for the video! I love your guy's videos. Thanks for mentioning those robot or geek generated videos. Nothing makes me want to puke more than videos by some clueless entity that put together ATV rating lists. They use ATV company's stock ad footage, rattle off the manufacturer's blurbs verbatim like they thought them up. Then, they will put Arctic Cat on top, Rincon second, and not even mention Kodiak or Grizzly. The items about each ATV that they feature prove they have zero idea about what they are talking about. They are actually a danger to consumers. They probably use the same format to produce videos that rate cars, laptops and canned soup. There. That's my soapbox moment.

Let me just say this first, I average 4000 miles (yes that's miles not kilometers) a year in the offroad trail riding capital of the world. Trail riding doesn't get any better than right here. With that said, only a couple of your picks kind of make my list of best trail ATVs!! Sorry brother, but it's the truth. Grizzly...had all the parts in the wrong places until the most recent redesign. Gas tank, airbox, intake, battery, etc. And it was too short for the seat height too. Ok, so now that that's all fixed, the Suzuki KQ750 has had all it's parts in the right places all along, and also has better power and quieter and longer lasting brakes. If you're in the market for a dependable single thumper big bore quad, Suzuki has the Grizz beat. Period. Go ride them both and tell me I'm wrong. 2. Polaris.......you gotta be on some Willie Weed to think that the all time least reliable brand is going to work out here on the trails for very long before repair bills put you in the poor house. Never mind the ridiculous AwD, ADC bandaid, gas cap under the handlebars, plastic racks, hard serviceability, the John Deere tractor shift lever, and the fact that you have to remove the stupid tire to change a belt. Oh, and they weigh more than Rosie O' Fat. Next. 3. A Raptor? A trail bike? Yeah, if you live back east and your trail is 10 miles long. Out here, we need trail bikes. Sport quads go to the track and the dunes. But as far as sport quads go, yes, the Raptor is bitchin'. 4. Honda Rubi......ok, I'll give you that one. Solid machine despite they've started using Chinese parts on them, and the electric shift is as annoying A.F.! 5. Can Am Outtie 650.....ok, another decent choice. But if you're willing to leave Japanese reliability behind in favor of ultimate power, the 650 ain't it. And your pick showing it out power a Brute 750....dude....no. Go ride them both. The Brute is lighter and clutched way lower. Off the line up to 45, the Brute spanks the 650 by a good quad length, and sometimes more. So what didn't make your list that should've? Dude, come on now, put some seat time on a Brute. Japanese reliability combined with an awesome engine. The only Japanese brand ever brave enough to mount a vtwin to a trail quad. I agree that they need a facelift. But they haven't changed much since 2012 because they didn't need to. It's ironed all the bugs out. That means a lot when you're 100 miles from the truck in the desert, and you're on your last bottle of water.😉
@DirtObseXXion
@DirtObseXXion 4 жыл бұрын
Awesome comment brother... I disagree with most of it obviously, but still love to hear a solid rebuttal.. Ill take a 650 Outlander over a Brute all day.. The Brute could could be good with some effort but it's just way too dated.. The Grizzly is way better than the KQ, powersteering, chasis, ergonomics all better on the Grizzly.. That KQ might be a touch more powerful but that's the only concession ill make.. Hondas gotta have footshift, only way I'd want one.. Thanks for checking out the vid!

@@DirtObseXXion Well, that's cool. But I wonder if you've ever ridden a KQ or a Brute? Every single shootout done by moto magazines on Japanese utes has put the KQ ahead of the Grizz. Every one. Of course, many of them also put it ahead of the Brute, but mostly due to the harsher ride, and more engine heat. I like the stiffer ride over the soft and vague suspensions. Engine heat can be an issue, but not as bad as Can Ams. I like the Outty 650, but not better than a Brute. A Brute is lighter, quicker, has a real locker, better racks, independent brakes, easier to do maintenance, and the list goes on. I've done maintenance on an Outty, and I hated all the plastic I had to remove. Still though, it was way better to work on than a Polaris.
@DirtObseXXion
@DirtObseXXion 4 жыл бұрын
@@utahwanderlust700 I've ridden them all.. Ive never seen a moto mag shootout where the KQ or Brute beat the Grizzly.. Id love to read it if it exists.. I definitely agree the outlanders suck to work on.. Basic maintenance on a Polaris is the easiest but beyond fluid changes they start to suck.. The brute is great, i like all of the machines we're talking about.. But if we're just talking about the 3 Japanese machines, there's no way you're changing my mind about the Grizzly being the best of the three.. The Brute's too blocky and poor handling.. Sales figures reflect this too, total sales go 1. Sportsman 2. Foreman 3. Outlander 4. Grizzly 5. KQ 6. Brute ... So you can complain about other people's preferences all day, but your the odd man out... If the Brute was the better machine, it would probably sell better than it does..

@@DirtObseXXion Sales numbers don't mean jack. Polaris sells a ton of machines because they offer great fleet discounts to the military, Forest Service, BLM, etc. Can Am also appeals to the macho guys that just have to have the most powerful machine. They also have a great marketing dept, as does Polaris. Kawasaki hardly has any marketing at all, and they have a smaller dealer network because of exclusivity contracts. Sales numbers and popularity don't always directly correlate to who has the best product. McDonald's sells the most hamburgers in the world, and they are dog meat. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, and I think it's comotose city. Michael Jackson has the best selling album of all time, and it sucks. Thank God for variety. I'm glad I like stuff that's not so mainstream, lol.😉

@@utahwanderlust700 You leave Michael Jackson out of this you sob! 🤣🤣🤣 Those are consumer sales excluding gov and commercial contracts.. Sales mean more than your giving them credit for.. I get your point but I still think you're in the minority because you prefer the brute.. It just didn't make our top 5. I wouldn't say you're a typical trail rider either.. You're breaking trails and going cross country more than average.. At least there's still options out there. Although I'll maintain that the brute still needs some attention paid to some short comings. If i were doing your kind of riding I'd want a Honda Rubicon with a footshift..

I have a Sportsman 1000 and I just can't see the Sportsman making a great touring model and you don't see many.. Much more common in the Outlander and I think the suspension will handle the second rider better.. Im not sold on cfmoto quality Yet personally.. But they are much less expensive

Great list! My Raptor 700R and Kodiak 700 EPS have both been incredible. You will run out of suspension performance & rider ability on a Grizzly long before power for fast trail riding. Agree that the Can Am 650 is criminally underrated. It is the hidden gem in their lineup. The Rubicons look badass, 518cc be damned, they still look great. The higher trim Rubicon pricing is a bit suspect though, for what you’re getting...

@DirtObseXXion
@DirtObseXXion Жыл бұрын
Most 4x4s are going to be decent on rocky terrain but honestly if the trails are truly bad then the Sportsman or Scrambler S models have a huge advatage especially for keeping up with SXSs. Polaris's quality is always suspect and they're super expensive. Another (possibly) good alternative is that new Alterra Black Hills edition which is the only "purpose built" machine for crawling with 28" tires and gear reduction.. It really depends on how bad the terrain is though, because like I said, any 4x4 can crawl pretty well.

I was 6'1, 300+ lbs on a Honda Recon going up the backway to CrownKing, AZ back in highschool. I never once needed more power. Gear selection, for me, is absolutely essential when trail-riding and rock-crawling. Eitherwise you only get a fraction of the power in each gear.

But what got me here was “sure it may not reach 80 mph but that doesn’t matter on the trails” I don’t know how the 700 doesn’t reach 80 because my 660 maxes out at 65 😂 no hate tho big fan. I hate that I don’t see a lot of Grizzlys on the trail anymore.

I’ve owned several EPS Brutes and an Outlander 850. Love them for what they are. Also owned arctic cat (don’t want to discuss that) and had terrible experiences with Polaris. Polaris may have gotten better since the last ones I’ve owned but couldn’t go back after multiple issues across several quads. I now have a 2019 Grizzly 700 SE with clutch mods, tuner and exhaust and is phenomenal. As far a trail machine it’s incredible. It’s the Swiss Army knife of atvs! At the end of the day, you need a Gruzzly for general trail riding and ANY twin cylinder from Can-Am/Polaris/Kawasaki for just all out grins. Confucius say - Man need Grizzly for trails, Man need twin cylinder for thrills. Buy both, it’s the secret to true happiness.
