Not taking anything away from Lewis or others, but George Russells performance thus far this week really demonstrates the growing disparity not in drivers, but in cars and teams. I'm not saying all drivers are equal, as we can all agree that when the pressure is on there will always be drivers that will rise to the occasion and be better. But that's the point... whether its the car or track or rules there is currently less and less of an environment that creates the pressure needed to emphasize the driver. Thus far this year George has not finished in the top 10, yet less than a week after a 12th place finish, in a new car he misses the pole by 2/100ths? Personally I hope he wins. Maybe then a real conversation can begin around the changes needed to bring more parity to the sport I love.

While Bottas does have a an advantage with being at the team, Russel has done testing and development for Mercedes, So he is used to the car and they'll have his seat mold from previous sessions. Plus the track is a 3 straights with 6 corners in between. Again Bottas does have the advantage, but knowing what Russel is capable of in that Williams, It's not exactly easy for Bottas.
