Aidan Neal yeah i know, but the reff should inform the player to release the ball. How the fvck can the player know hes in the wrong if he clearly on feet, and perfectly jackaling the ball? Its understandable that a reff could have seen it from different angle, thats why he need to tell the player off, not blowing the whistle lolol. You can clearly see that ardie was not a tackler, but on the reff perspective he is, and him assuming that ardie is not clearly releasing the ball. So telling ardie to release the ball is the wise option, not directly blowing the whistle.

The refs are being instructed to clamp down on ruck rules. Nothing has actually changed they're just reffing it properly. Which is learning curve for everyone.

He wasnt poor, just stricter guidelines being enforced. Last week's games were also incredibly stop start. Too early to say if things need to change up yet
