I recently bought my 1st buggy (ae b6.2) and they already have every improvement and issue addressed that you brought up. I have and old t4 and a tc6.1 and xray were the leaders of innovation back then. I reckon ae do better manuals than xray too...

Hey Jerry, I guess you will be happy to hear I just bought an Associated B74.1D. So far I have build and driven Associated, XRAY, and Kyosho cars and have really enjoyed all of them.

Recently finished a 2021 Xray xb2 carpet edition build and am super happy with it. I used a protek low profile servo and muchmore esc and motor. With 100% bone stock settings this thing rips around my local track. I haven't began tuning any suspension yet but plan to add the rear sway bar. What do you think about this addition? Will it add anymore grip do you think? Also what other upgrades would you suggest? I am still using the stock 78 tooth spur with a 27 tooth pinion. I ordered a 25 and 26 tooth pinion and was also thinking of swapping to the 75 tooth spur. The track is a tight, high grip technical course with 4 larger jumps, woops section, and 2 or 3 hair pin turns. They are also about to add a wall ride turn to the end of the track.

I added rear sway bar to the rear and it helped on carpet. I tried the front sway bar but it took too much steering away from the car. I would recommend going with the rear sway bar only. Glad to hear you got a 2021 XB2! Protek makes some really nice servo's. Biggest upgrade I would suggest for carpet is the front brass bulkhead.

Thinking about getting one in the next day or two. Just found out there is an indoor carpet locally so I’m stoked. They have a 2020 for $40 off. Do you think it would be better for the 2021. They told me there was something diff with the steering but that the 2020 could be updated. They seemed to like the AE at that track too. What are your thoughts?

The 2021 has very minor changes, they were correct in the fact that the steering has been updated. If you find a good deal on the 2020 I would jump on it. You can always update the steering part down the road. AE is great, I have had a B5,B5M, & B6.1. Performance on the track is great, the parts just don't hold up like XRAY. XRAY has better quality. However; if you like to upgrade parts AE is the way to go.

Thanks Rob, I'm considering ordering one of these. What stops the battery holders from rotating under vibration and the battery coming loose? Which low profile servo are you using? Thanks.
@robertbecker88954 жыл бұрын
Dave Gaskell there is enough tension to keep the battery holder from rotating. I’m running the savox cavalieri edition. I have 4 of his edition ones and never had any issues.

- Thanks Rob, I've now built one and see that the battery holder tabs are a close fit on the threaded shafts, I previously assumed they rotated freely. Cheers.

For what reason do you run what looks like a receiver battery pack on 2s?
@rob_becker Жыл бұрын
what time in the video do you see that?

@@rob_becker 0:22-0:51 sec, sitting behind the servo??

@@karlrouse8479 ahh I gotcha, that's a larger capacitor that hobbywing makes. Now they have the non polarity capacitors that I'd like to upgrade to.
