hi! i too own this 2.8E AT and i loved it for 3 years na! before i give my pros and cons of this vehicle, i would like you to know the kind of person i am when it comes to vehicles. i am an engineer and i am very specific sa engine department. i study the engine/transmission design to know how good it is and ease of maintenance which i can do it myself. sa mga accessories na offered, i dont care much bec. i want to install what i want from LED lights, sound system, navigation systems, etc. eto ang mga comments ko. im already a senior citizen that's why i chose the A/T. if i were younger, i will chose the M/T bec of cheaper maintenance. the first thing na hinangaan ko sa engine ay wala siyang auxiliary fan sa radiator. this means that the design of the cooling system is very good! sa power ng engine, you will love it especially going up to Baguio! but i havent tested it with its maximum designed load. with a full tank of diesel, you are limited to load the vehicle to 585 kilos, and this weight is already very good! bec my wife and i only go to Baguio regularly, i removed the 3rd row seat to lighten the vehicle. the performance going up to Baguio is excellent! we all know na ang hari ng Kenon road ay mga Toyota Hiace na UV Express! well, the Innova can overtake them so easily! it has more power but i didnt use it bec it is already dangerous for me. my limit on the throttle is 3,000 rpm. when going up to high places, i always switch to Power Mode. another thing i loved in this engine is that it has a timing chain! some said it has roller rocker arms and hydraulic lifters but i havent seen it. and one thing more! you dont have to switch off the aircon going up to Baguio bec it has plenty of power! i would have loved it more if i were using a M/T going up there! i tested the aircon in traffic at 40 degrees Celsius at sumaludo ako sa ganda, malamig! ang hindi ako kontento ay insulation ng vehicle pero madali lang i-modify ito! the power steering is quite on the heavy side but good for high speed driving. i thank Toyota so much for putting this engine in the Innova! We have one wish on the Innova! sana next time, give us an option to choose the engine of the new HiLux for the Innova! Many of us would love to have that 204 PS/500 Nm engine in the Innova and also in AWD if possible!! the reason we didnt get the Fortuner then was the weight difference. the Fortuner was 300 kg heavier than the Innova tapos pareho lang ang power specs nila! my dream is to have a Fortuner with a straight-6 or V6 diesel! we want to see the performance specs of the Innova on the Fortuner. lastly, if you have this beautiful 2.8 engine, take very good care of it! thanks!

Sadly if you bought a manual Innova since 2016 until now, it only comes with a 5 speed manual, when the Hilux E and above and Fortuner G, already comes in a 6 speed manual, so if you use it for highway, the automatic would get more fuel efficiency due to having a 6th gear, so it was a better choice to choose an automatic for the Innova, especially when you use it on the highway, plus it would be noisier in the manual on the highway as you can't put it into 6th gear to lower the rpms (as I've read in the comments of videos about the Innova before, with someone driving it at a speed of more than 100kph I think). I don't get why some people need a more powerful Innova, I'm like what do people need so much power for, when the current 2.8 Innova already has more than enough power, as compared with the old model which lacked so much power and was faster than the Revo, but was able to have the same capacity of 7-8 people (coming from someone who has driven a 2nd hand 2006 Innova 2.5G AT, which we had from 2007- Mar. 2021 and a 2nd hand 2018 Innova 2.8G AT, which we had from Feb. 2020 - Aug. 2021). I've driven it with 6 people back then in both of them, (and way way back, we even had 8 people in the Innova 2.5 when I was still a kid, and we use that for trips to Tagaytay), so I know the power difference and for me it is more than enough, as compared to the Fortuner with a heavier body and had a smaller engine, which back then was only available with a 2.4 engine for the 4x2 G and V (2.8 was only available back then for the 4x4 variant of the Fortuner), that's where I felt a lack of power when I tested it, but with a 2.8, I never felt a lack of power, since the Innova 2.8 is lighter and more powerful than the Fortuner 2.4. I'm not sure how you say that the aircon is cold, even with a G variant, I felt that the cooling was lacking, even with only 2-4 people (sometimes 6), and the rear ac on, especially during hot days in city driving, especially during the summer (not sure if cooling is better in the highway), the temperature was already set to LO (coolest setting) or a sometimes a bit above LO at 18-20 deg and fan 3-5 out of 7(max) during hot days, but on not so hot days it is cold, and the normal setting is 22-24, fan 2-3. We also have factory tint on all windows from the 1st owner (Platinum brand), except for the front, which we were the one to have it installed (3M brand), since the original tint was only covering the top part of the front window. We even had Toyota check the aircon since it was still under warranty, but they found no issues, and they even compared the temperature of our unit, with the aircon of their test drive unit, and we were told that the time it takes for it to cool and reach a certain temp is the same for both.

@@johngo7199, kung may fan sa harap ng radiator, it means hirap ang cooling system. Auxiliary fan tawag sa kanya. Our 2018 Innova does not have an auxiliary fan.

Can I request something! When you are reviewing vehicles, can you please include the Curb Weight and the Gross Weight of the vehicle? Many reviewers don’t say this! The most important thing to know in a vehicle for me is knowing the Maximum Designed Load of the vehicle and its Horsepower per Ton! In terms of performance bilib ako sa innova even the previous version 2.5 D4D engine. Sumisibat agad pag binigla mo. Hindi rin underpower kahit kargado ka. Ang sarap niya gamitin sa uphill kasi ramdam mo yung torque niya. In terms of durability trusted ang toyota and the availability ng parts. Ang ayoko lang sa Innova ngayon or even the Fortuner is ang taas masyado ng dashboard. Mahihirapan ang maliliit na tao makita yung harap. Kahit ako na matangkad hindi ko makita yung harap tanchahan lang. I hope iconsider ni Toyota na bawasan yung height ng dash.

pangarap kong family vehicle namin. Malakas ang makina diesel pa, reliable pa, malaki masarap pang long drive. Price mas mahal ng konti sa ibang mpv. pero kung J variant manual ang kukunin nyo hindi na nalalayo sa ibang mpv ng ibang manufacturer. Kaya Innova talaga.. benta ung malambot sya masarap sa pwet. haha. KULANG lang pagkakadetalye sa SRS Airbags. si Innova mga kapwa viewers may front and passenger airbag plus CURTAIN airbags sa buong luob ng sasakyan. so safety talaga to the max. UNLIKE other mpv na puro front airbags lang kahit avanza front airbags lang. nice review over all kaya kahit may ads yung videos nyo ok lang pinapanood ko wlang skip.

Innova e owner also. But the 25kpl is exaggerated. Ours does 10 to 12kpl in the city on eco mode. The best thing is the PWR mode. The worst thing is the front tires gets worn out quickly. Thats the only downside of the current innova.

2016 E manual model innova ko, until now no problem whatsoever! Fantastic car! Solid! Highly recommended! Lol!

For me, the Eco Mode, Normal Mode, Power Mode ay walang effect kase kung ako tatapak sa gas pedal palageng naka full kapag ako nagdadrive. Kahit Eco Mode isagad mo lng ganun parin. Ang features kase ng mga 3modes type na yan ay for advance acceleration lng. For tipid takbo lng go for eco mode kase set sya sa low rpm pero kung isasagad ganun din abot parin 4k rpm. kung gusto ka ratratan edi mag power mode ka konting tapak anjan na power set to high rpm pero kung ifu-full mo ganun pa rin pwersya nya. Honestly speaking malakas ang innova 0-180kph compared to fortuner/hilux 2.8 kase magaan and yung aerodynamics nya lamang. Number 1 sa pinaka lahat matibay ang toyota
