I am laughing when I have owned pretty much everything except German vehicles. Japanese vehicles are no better than a FORD EDSEL. Yes, sadly it seems, it is no different than a person who lives the STRONG DELUSION. Among the world's longevity and truly certified vehicles (not here say of those who love to lie), the name which two brands had more than 1.5 million miles? Ugh...not even Japanese vehicles. Well? Let me know...I love the laugh.

I have owned two Odyssey’s. No real issues, but having to replace the timing belt and water pump every 100k at $1200 is a deal breaker. Next van will be anything without a timing belt. Love everything about my Honda’s, but they need to go with a timing chain.

Reliability is critical, Toyota is king. I just rode a Sienna shuttle back from LAX and my driver said his previous Sienna had 600K miles before it was replaced. He had a Honda Odyssey before and only lasted 200K miles. We all heard transmission nightmares of Honda Odyssey transmission failures.

I own a 2013 Odyssey. I have driven the other minivans during this time. I have to say that the Odyssey is the best van out there. The only downside I have with it, and this is a REALLY big downside, is that in 2020, the Odyssey STILL will not offer an AWD version.

I have the same year Odyssey, 2013, less the 70000 miles. I'm ready to sell it for 2 reasons. First reason that plays big role on it, the horsepower, only 248, it feels it takes a lot of effort to go up the hill, especially when i'm in some interstate highway. I feels like i also blow the engine if I step heavier on the gas paddle, and it down shift sometimes. Also the pick up always takes 2 to 3 seconds, it sometimes doesn't give confidence to change lane in some situations. Second reason is the wind noise. It makes the drive not too enjoyable sometime, especially if I have to talk on the bluetooth, not the car's bluetooth, I mean to my earphone.

Honestly the pacifica has the most to offer. I know people say that they are unreliable but it all depends on how you Maintain it in the end. If you do a good job maintaining it then out will be reliable. My moms 07 town and country has 200k miles on it and still runs very good. The Pacificas looks and performances and features are unbeatable.

Elliott Johnson Yea but a person that Matains there car will still get more life from the Sienna or odyssey than a fiat Pooja Chrysler product. It doesn’t matter how much it has to offer when it’s life is still shorter. It’s a good rental car but not a good car to own unless you want to spend a lot of money on it. The car looks alright but again none of that surface stuff matters when it’s shit on reliability . Looks are subjective, features are as well. In the end all that matters is how much life can you get out of it and this car simply does not hold up on the reliability column and makes it the worst van to own out of the three.

Peter Elak like i said my mom's town and country has over 200k miles and still runs like a pro. People are so focused on the past that they can't even realize how much better chysler has gotten with reliability. Honda is starting to have a lot of transmission issues but everyone wants to point out chyslers "issues" when the main issue is from the infotainment center. Nothing about the engine or powertrain. When are we going to start pointing out Honda issues instead of focusing on chryslers past becuae there is notging you can accuse now?

We had an 88 Dodge Caravan for 15 years and 160K miles. It had some minor electrical issues and trim issues. But the fact that it stayed with us for so long says alot. We also had a 94 Voyager with 112K miles which my dad used as a work van. Of course, we took care of them. What I took away from growing up with that Caravan and Voyager is that they are durable vehicles when taken care of. The problem is, if I made a survey of thousands of car owners in America, I think 70% of them don't maintain their cars as they should. Toyotas tend to be built with these people in mind and hold out longer than the rest. But I can't imagine more than 30% of Americans properly bother maintaining their cars. And for this reason, I don't buy pre-owned vehicles unless I know its full history.

If you take out the center seat in the second row you can slide both 2nd row captain's chairs to the center and you could put both rear facing there. I would not consider buying a Chrysler so really down to Sienna and Odyssey for me. I chose the Odyssey because I was able to get a better deal at the time. Well paddle shifters are different than the push-button shifter. The PBS is important to talk about because you are forced to use it to select a gear, whereas paddle shifters do not need to be used to operate the vehicle. They're only for fun/those that want to feel like they have more control over the trans.

allcarseveryday well that’s the whole reason to have paddle shift isn’t it. I def would want that. So far I only see it on the 2018 and newer Odyssey’s when they went with the 9- speed. Wonder if the Sienna SE has paddle shift too but I have yet to see it.

Based on what I've seen in new Sienna's, they don't offer them. Instead they have an area in the bottom left corner of the shift pattern that allows for 'manual' shifting the same way paddle shifters do, but you have to pull backward for a downshift and push forward for an upshift I believe.

Also did like interior better at the time. Interested to see how the 2020 Honda drives now and what the 2021 Toyota will bring. Pacifica Hybrid definitely is something to consider but then the stowingo is such a nice feature to lose going to Hybrid.

Our Sienna had 200k on it before any major problems. Our Honda Odyssey that replaced it has 111k and the transmission clunks into gear and the van itself is super slow, you have to nearly floor it to get onto the interstate. While the Honda has been reliable, I dont see it being as trouble free as the Sienna. We shall see. Id personally take the Sienna or even a Kia Sedona over the Odyssey.

Maybe I missed it, but did you even drive any of these vehicles? You need to drive it especially at night to see if you can find everything in the dark like light switches, exterior mirrors adjustments, emergency flashers etc. My 2003 Odyssey has several items that you have to feel in the dark for or turn the doom light on while you drive. My next car will have a test drive at night. You also need to compare the warranties.

I have a 2005 Sienna. There are two bad things about it. The first is that the cruise control is very finicky and often doesn't set. This was a problem on multiple Toyota models. The second bad thing (which was also common on multiple Toyota models) is the tendency of the dash to melt, crack, and get very sticky from the sun. Mine just started doing this about two years ago, just after Toyota quit replacing defective dashes for free.

Did you had any issue with the steering wheel and alignment? I had bought one and next day I noticed I had to steer the steering wheel to the left in order for the van to go straight. I went back to the dealership and they took care of it but while going home I noticed the issue was still there even when it was fixed. They were super nice and changed the van for me, but that one had the same issue so the dealership contacted their partner dealership and asked them to drive one and it had the same issue as well. I ended up refunding the van.

The one take away from doing the vehicle research is that you are going to pick a vehicle that you want or met all of your needs. I was able to get a 2020 Chrysler Touring L that have similar safety measures as Honda, have eight seaters as a Toyota, got 15 cup holders, and more than I can ask for. Just make sure you do your research. Safety ratings, crash ratings, talk to mechanics, test drives, etc.. etc.. Only thing you will hate is paying the price of the van.

You must not have the need to haul long items such as ladders or mattresses or you would have mentioned the lack of roof rails and crossbars on some of these vans. Roof rails used to standard equipment; mud flaps, too. Your video was, otherwise, a nice cursory review for those who are mostly people haulers. Edit - Forgot to add: Tow hitches aren't standard either. And for some makes an expensive install at the dealership.

That was totaled two weeks ago and now we're looking for another. It's 2021 so I'm hoping you have an updated review. It would be worth noting the AWD option for the Pacifica anyway. Kia is a great van. Toyota is great but I wish it’s interior was as nice as Honda’s. On the other hand I wish Honda sat taller and had siennas transmission. I wish Chrysler would just make a reliable vehicle. I wish Dodge would simply do a new redesign for the caravan with updated tech, suspension, AWD, up the price and destroy then all. Bottom line is that people will pay for quality... Chrysler has so much to prove as they have stabbed the consumer in the back for many years. Note: it’s not like they can’t build a great reliable car it’s that they just choose not too.
