I bought a 2020 Triumph Street Triple about five months ago and love it. I have the silver one and I think they look very sharp. The bike is so silky smooth and you can tell it's a quality built machine. The handling is amazing and it feels so light and nimble. And it's quick. Love the sound of the 765 triple. I will preface this by saying I sold a 2019 790 Duke to get this bike and there is no comparison. That bike was tractor like - very clunky quick shifter and it had jerky fueling. It did handle well, but the Triumph feels more refined and smooth as far as the engine and quick shifter. I put this bike up there with the 2018 BMW S1000 R that I have as far as quality, smoothness and handling. But the Triumph is more comfortable - feels smaller, which it is, and less of a reach to the bars.

People complain that bikes are already too expensive and then also complain that they don’t have all of the gizmos found on bikes that cost $20,000. I have only 2500 miles on my 18 but I totally disagree about the traction control. I hual ass and have perfectly worn the tread from center to outside edge where the diablo logos are (basically a dot slick) and the Periili Diablo Super Corsa grip from 40 degrees on a sunny day to shred the little specs on the track in the summer. I have a Yoshimura header back pipe that drops 10 pounds easy and is crazy loud without the insert but just right with it installed and you can still hear the incredible intake howl! But there is no need for a fancy IMU traction control on a bike with 120 something HP and 60 lbs of torque and track tires. Set tc to the lightest setting you barlely notice intervention and barley see the light flash on the gauges even on a corner leaned over full throttle exit. I think this dude does smoke before hitting the track! This bike is like a scalple! It goes where you think and has enough power to do an 11 second quarter and keep up with much higher displacement bikes with good riders. I have tried to own bikes that do many things ok like a Ninja 1000SX or Ninja 650 but this bike has made me a better rider and is one of the best bikes for the money or not period. However, what he said about the M50 Brembos is true including the MCS adjustability. They stop so well that you have to be careful when you ride other bikes and alllow for extra distance comparatively. You can get heated grips that are so sweet they display hi/lo in the gauges and have no noticeable wires conneccted to the throttle that rotate with it.

Are you saying that because of the long review from Revzilla that concluded the R was the better option? If you are then you might want to rethink that. They were talking about the previous Street Triple versions. The 2020 r and rs are different in many ways. For one, you can only get the TFT with the RS now and second, they fixed the throttle response/torque issues that plagued the 2017-2019 RS and made those guys choose the R. If they did their testing with the 2020 then they'd choose the RS and rightfully so. You can get the R but you are giving up everything and only gaining the price savings.

I owned an earlier version of the 765 street and agree completely with your assessment of this one. As a rider for over fifty years - AKA Ol’fart - I can honestly say I lust after this motorcycle. That said, I wish Triumph would produce a limited “pipe ‘n slippers” edition. Triumph Street Triple P’nS Ltd? You know, maybe include a fake oil stain you can slip under the crankcase when it’s parked, as an homage to the people who actually rode Triumphs when they were young?

Awesome reviews Adam! Why the mechanical key? I’m just curious. Keep up the great reviews!

This bike feels High Quality and built to last. The duke feels cheap and plasticy. Triumph anyday.....

Love my Roulette Green 2009 675 Street Triple. What a bike! Picked mine up for £2000. What more do you need?

CAT C insurance repair 14,000 miles. I saw it advertised and suggested it to a friend of mine who teaches motor mechanics. He bought it, repaired it, it went to a mate of mine and I bought it off him so he could put a downpayment on a GS. It's not perfect but all the right bits are in perfect working order.
@autumnleaf29764 жыл бұрын
@@Gorbyrev that's a steal mate! It has some miles, but that's expected. These new bikes are wayyy too expensive and the electronic nannies breaks down every other day and the bike refuses to start. Great bike, ride safe 👍

I love the blunt honesty about the Street Triple getting left behind by the latest crop of middleweights such as the KTM 890 Duke R.
@gmc35784 жыл бұрын
isn't the Duke 890 more of a "dual purpose" bike??
@Joric784 жыл бұрын
@@gmc3578 I wouldn't think so. It's a middleweight naked bike. Dual purpose usually means street legal, off-road enduros. Although I'm in Oz, so maybe that changes depending on your location?

Another great MC Commute! Hair is looking better! Good job, Adam. Hey, and thanks for the ride, the review and saying it the way you see it. Camera was pointed a tad downward and couldn't see far enough down the road at times. More track day and canyon carving footage would be cool. Ciao.

I agree, it should have cruise control and heated grips!! I'm pretty sure the Triumph Tiger 800 and 1050 both have heated grips and cruise control as options and possibly similar electronics so it baffles me why they wouldn't include it on they're other bikes if they are sharing parts. Its a 13k bike OTD COME ON TRIUMPH~!!
@suburbanhobbyist27523 жыл бұрын
I agree as well! If you are going to make a "RS" version that is more expensive than the other trim and you already offer that tech in other motorcycles that you produce, then why in the hell isn't it offered on this bike!? Cruise control is so standard these days it is almost silly it's not on the bike already. It wouldn't have cost them much at all to add that feature.

I like these on-the-move reviews but the camera must always point forward, not down while moving. Obviously point the camera down to talk about the dash, etc. A good review, which this is, is ruined by a crappy camera angle.

In flesh the bike looks pretty good actually, but if course it's subjective. Build quality and refinement is objectively excellent though. I got the 2017 and it keeps delivering. I'd like the increased midrange from the new model though. But the new screen graphics is really a step backwards. I tried the old 675 once and I also really loved the direct connection to the throttle. Overall t's a great do it all bike with nearly zero flaws. Totally usable for touring and yet great fun on the track.

Mechanical throttle. This and no nannies is why I continue to own my 07 Tuono Factory. I've ridden one of these and I really like it.
@MrJackk107 ай бұрын
I have to disagree with some of your points! The engine is hugely different from the original 675. There is dozens of redesigned parts of the engine and latterly the moto2 engines that triumph supply, the engineering and technology has trickled down to the new 765. The dash and TFT display is very easy to use. The joystick pretty much does everything. You can’t really go wrong with it. I admit the display options aren’t the best, however the usability is very good.

Gotta agree with the looks, the body and tail looks great but the front not so much. I've never really like the look of the front which was why I've always preferred the Daytona 675

This is definitely a well balanced review. Main take out for me is that the best days of the Street triple platform could well be behind them. The raving reviews of the past may have led triumph to rest on their laurels through just subtle tweaks to their triple powerplant. But this is 2020. The competition has caught on. It's an opportunity for them to leap ahead once again

Honestly I’d have to disagree with a lot of this review. The street triple RS has a sportier riding position than nearly every other naked bike in its class. Also the TFT display is so easy to use idk how you could fault it. I never even looked at the manual. And finally the suspension isn’t exactly supple. It’s track suspension. It does fine over rough roads but you’re gonna feel some of it. For as good of a rider as he is this review was a little strange. It’s a phenomenal bike.

I want glossy paint!! And what are "contemporary bars"? Flatter and more stretched out? Just give me comfort, I don't want a sportbike without bodywork...I want something a bit more comfortable, not stretched out. Street not Sport.
