Thank you for this. Seriously. You have no idea. It’s amazing to me how this big little journey has connected me to so many people that I wouldn’t have otherwise ever known existed. And to think- I inspire some of them? Me? This little no body in the great state of Texas who decided she was worth taking her own life by the horns and never looking back? Talk about humbling. What’s next is a 15k in a couple of weekends and then Princess. Potentially some big exciting things in the fall but I won’t let the cat out of the bag just yet. What a day for your first marathon! It was one we could all suffer together. I had the same thing happen to me in Savannah for the full marathon a few years back where they cut off 1.5 miles of the race because of the heat. Did not bother me one bit! Congrats on being a marathoner.

I wasn’t mad about it at all. By the time we finished I had gone over 27 miles because of all the bobbing and weaving through the crowds. And thank you- being a marathoner feels awesome. 😉

Eyes were tearing up watching this video. I just completed my first 10k at Universal which was my very first official race ever and I felt that same elation you did. RunningInMakeup I cant wait! I’ve done lots of races just not Disney....I’m about to do half marathon #19....and have done 2 full marathons. I’m really proud of how you trained for the Goofy Challenge. It was a very smart way to do it with doing intervals. I have to change my mindset with the Dopey Challenge in that I will probably have to walk a bunch in the full marathon. I’m one to never walk during a half either (a full is a different story).... but I’m going to just listen to my body. Maybe if you are there again in 2021 I can say hi!!

I sat down and "scheduled" my runs with my husband at times that he was ok with watching all 3 of them (the twins plus our first grader). My shorter runs were at night after they were in bed and my long runs were on Saturday mornings before they woke up. You just have to commit to the time commitment portion of it. I will tell you that I won't train for another full until at least 2022 to run in 2023.

2023 will be the 30th anniversary of the marathon and the 10th anniversary of the Dopey so the bling should be amazing . . probably need to train to carry the weight of those medals!
