I saw the co-writer of parasite accepted best original screenplay on the same day from the annual WGA west. Why are there 2 annual WGA awards (west and east)? Why not just one annual WGA award like SAG and DGA? Any reason for WGA division?

It's one Awards ceremony administered by two guilds. You can read about each guild's formation and history at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Writers_Guild_of_America,_East and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Writers_Guild_of_America_West There's also two television academies in the U.S.: The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) in North Hollywood, California who organizes the Primetime Emmy Awards and the _National_ Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) in New York who organizes separate Daytime Emmy Award ceremonies, Sports Emmy Award ceremonies, News & Documentary Emmy Award ceremonies, and Technology & Engineering Emmy Award ceremonies. There's yet a separate International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS) that awards international Emmys to the best television programs produced outside the United States.
