I placed the order for this bike well before any of this situation was in sight, it just happened to arrive with not so great timing. I'm aware these are complicated times for very many. I honestly struggled to decide if I wanted to publish this video now, I realize many people have been harshly affected in health and financially, but ultimately, KZbin has been a mental escape to happier things for me, so as hope it is for you, I opted to publish the video now. I really do hope this does not come across as insensitive, and instead its a little dosage of stoke to help with isolation and lack of riding. I still haven't gotten to ride the bike beyond a quick lap around to block to check if everything was OK. Next video on it is going to have to wait until after we can ride freely. Cheers everyone and stay safe.

Nice and enjoy.., I sold my 2018 Spectral in January and bought a 2019 RM Instinct carbon 90 BC as a leftover. List was $6100.00 and i paid 3620.00 including shipping, came from shop in Idaho , sold the stock alloy wheels for $200.00 and put on some new XA carbon wheels and RF 800 carbon bars, the rest is stock. To be honest much more than i need but its an awesome bike, climbs better than the Spectral and barely a pedal strike with the 170 cranks vs the 175. I have Stamp 11 pedals, yeah $$$$ but light and only buy once, FOX 36 so much better than the Spectral fork as is the rear shock. Got $1700.00 for the Spectral so i rode it a year for 700.00. Dont be paranoid about the COVID thing, i think its blown out of proportion. I had it about 3 months ago, fever and BAD cough at the end, self quarantined for 3 weeks total, just really back into riding and getting some endurance the last month, need to drop some inactivity and COVID weight, other than that i am fine

Sweet!! I'd be keeping the DHRII outback... it's the Goldilocks tire for mind i.e. just right. I thought you were putting a 2.5 Aggressor on. I run one of these on my AM HT 29er outback and it is a great rear option. PS - that steed deserves 160 mil of travel up front 🤘
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
The DHR is a phenomenal tire for the places that warrant it. You know, I tried the 2.5 and didn't think it was that much grippier. I'd rather run the 2.3 on my home trails, and if I ever feel like I need a bigger tire for a trip of something, I'd go for something in 2.5 and more aggressive than the aggresor. I may make it 160 in the future, swaping the airshaft is easy. Want to ride it like this first and see if its worth it.

I currently ride a medium size on my 29er Giant Talon 3 hardtail. What size do you recommend for the Jeffsy 29 Base for someone who is 5’10 with 30’ inseam? If out do opt for the Jeffsy it will be my first adventure into buying a bike outside the norm of going to a LBS. Any recommendations would be helpful.

I hope to visit again! Really enjoyed the experience both culturally and for the mountain biking. Seems like there's much to explore.

Beautiful bike... looking forward to see videos of you riding it. Where did you get that torque wrench?
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I can't wait to get out and ride. Its a x-tools, sold through chain reaction cycle, about $35, you have to treat it well, but it's done it job for a few years now.

Hi, do you mind me asking what size you opted for and how tall you are? I’m 5,11 and am thinking of a medium, I ride a Trek m/l size currently. Colourway is stunning, great choice 👍
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
At 5'11 you're definitely a large. You could opt for an XL even, but I wouldn't do it

BlindstuffMTB thanks very much, that really helps. Awesome bike.

How does the Jeffsey do on roudy mointajn trails. Like Moab and jump lines?

Absolutely love it. Rode my 2017 in moab on capt ahab a few months ago and it was amazing, can't wait to take this one.

If it's good enough for Aaron Gwinn I think I could ride one. Yours even has a chain.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
I rode my previous Jeffsy chainless in a race once, not as much fun as Gwin makes it look!

Enjoy the bike! It's absolutely brilliant, even putting value aside, you should bring it to the Sugar Trail ;)

Thanks! Riding the sugar trail was awesome. Hope I can make it back someday, to ride that again, and to get to know more that I missed!

You're asking the wrong person. I'm already biased to say the Jeffsy, because, well, that's what I bought...

Nice! which chain guide and bash guard are those? will it fit my 19 Jeffsy CF Comp?

Funn Zippa Lite. Yes it will. Works with anything with ISCG05 tabs.

That silver looks great! What trails are still open down there? I'm up in central Florida and we are basically down to Croom, Chuck Lennon, and Spruce Creek.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Bill! Unfortunately nothing open down here. It'll be a while till I can get on the trails. You guys still have good options. Stay safe!

Nice bike! I’ve got a 2018 Jeffsy and I’m curious how the newer version compares?
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt! The difference from 2018 to now depends on which model you have AL/CF/27/29, they've change at different times, really confusing imho.

You should have put an Amazon link for the stuff you added on. Make some extra little bit of money!

I gave up on Amazon affiliate links. Made me next to nothing and amazon makes the experience horrible.

Nice bike dude!!! What do you recommend on how to choose your tires? Got stocks on my hardtail but looking to upgrade soon. Thanks!
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Hendrik! Choosing tires is mainly on the purpose you're going to be using them for and how to balance grip vs rolling resistance. Its not exactly true, but you can considered that a simplified approach is that more grip is more rolling resistance, so faster rolling tire for XC will have less grip, while grippy tires for DH will be slower. Find your happy medium amongst that. The front tire you can get away with a much more aggressive tire without feeling the drag so much, the rear is really noticeable due to pedaling. I'm a fan of Maxxis because they're bullet proof, but the truth is that theres a bunch of good brands out there. If you give me some more detail about where you live what type of riidng you do, etc, I can help with more specifics.
@Vandercross874 жыл бұрын
BlindstuffMTB thanks man! I live in Belgium so a lot of XC close to home and nothing too steep here, but I could use just a bit more grip than I have now with my stocks on there. Although peddling here remains important since its quite some ground to cover. But we will be heading up to the Ardennes a few times this summer so some extra grip could come in useful! I’m actually looking for the sweet spot between peddling and grip since I’m saving for a new fully too and don’t wish to spend money on extra set of rims & tires for the hardtail. Thanks for the advice man!

Great video! Is that a size large? Also, how tall are you? looking at getting one of these but undecided between a medium and a large.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
Hey Chad. I'm 182 cm, that's 5'11 almost 6'. I liked the large. I puts me on the upper range for that size, but it feels perfect. Have you checked the websites size finder? Should give you an idea. How tall are you?
@chadgoetz4 жыл бұрын
@@BlindstuffMTB I'm 5'8" and a bit. It says on the site that medium is only for 5'7". But, I've had medium bikes in the past, and they seemed fine.
@BlindstuffMTB4 жыл бұрын
@@chadgoetz imho, you'd be better on a large. It's always a personal choice and it's not an exact science, but I've made the mistake of buying a cramped bike and it was the worst.
