The Holy Prophet ﷺ is Our Link to Allah ﷻ
Naqshbandi Aliyyah Singapore, March 19, 2021
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Sha’aban Al-Mua’zzam, the holy month belonging to our Prophet (ﷺ), is of symbolic value, being between Rajab, month of Allah (ﷻ) and Ramadan, month of the Ummah.
Sha’aban is the link, a celebration of the impeccable adab (prescribed Islamic etiquette) that can bring people to their Creator (ﷻ).
Just as a common folk in society would need to go through an intermediary should he wish to speak to the highest authority of the land, so too would we, the average person, need the ‘best of creation’ (ﷺ), to reach to The Almighty.
Rasulullah (ﷺ) is The Channel to Allah (ﷻ)
Our Holy Prophet (ﷺ) is the only one, in all of creation, who can reach to the Divine Presence of Allah (ﷻ). His (ﷺ) love is our only salvation.
Allah states in Surah Al-Imran 3:31,
‘Say (O Muhammad (ﷺ) to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
Allah Offered His Love
Allah Almighty is not in need of creation. All the Love that He offers benefits only us, His creation.
Focus On Your Guide
In order to reach this Divine Love, one must keep a close watch on the ego. Focus on the one sent to guide us to His Love. A connection to Rasulullah (ﷺ) is our only source to Allah.
Beware of ‘The Little Destroyer’
The Messenger of Allah (ﷻ), said, “Verily, my greater fear for you is the hidden idolatry (Shirk Kafi).”
Hence, we must make conscious effort to cleanse ourselves of the hidden deeds, feelings or thoughts that takes us away from Allah’s Pleasure.
Be Busy With Your Own Decree
The 15th of Sha’aban, Nisful Sha’aban, is the night Allah (ﷻ) determines the pprovisions and destiny of each person for the next year.
Our Shuyukh, inheritors of Holy Prophet (ﷺ), are reminding to be careful,
• not to interfere with matters that don’t concern you, and
• be quick to seek repentance (taubat).
With the baroqah (blessings) of the owner of this month, Sayyidina Muhammad (ﷺ), may Allah (ﷻ) grant our love for His Beloved to increase and may his love for us allow us to reach to ‘eternal love’.
