I dont think J-settes know the depth of their influence. They should honestly trademark their signature dance moves and routines and even their tryout processes. Even before social media you had gay men im the clubs all across the country doing J-sette routines in the clubs, they had real competitions and everything.

And we still have competitions. Also, remember the initial dance style came the from mind and creativity of a gay man. RIP Mr. Hollis Pippins who taught various moves back during their foundational years. We've always been at the forefront in bringing art to life.

@@TheAlize07 You better teach! I was on IG, and young folk kill me when they say stuff like, Why can't gay men let us women keep something for ourselves." I laughed and replied, "EXCUSE ME, not only was Mr. Hollis Pippins a Drum Major and then later on to become a Baton Twirler at JSU in the 70's, that same MAN co-created the J-Settes Style and Choreography along with Shirley Middleton and Narah Oatis. Mr. Hollis Pippins creativity was pivotal in creating and laying down the foundation that the J-settes continue to carry on today." She never responded back.

Still amazing to watch it now. The most amazing part to me is how many women came back to partake. That speaks volumes.

They were able to recover quite well. The routine was super energetic and I LOVED it! Unfortunately, Cilla was late on the roll, it can be seen in the close up video posted by MrUSMC1999
