New metal universe is 'good' but compared to last year's set, not even close. Last year's set was easily the most fun rip. Cards like 'The Cheddar' , 'metal universe picks' and 'big men' kinda suck! And the faded rust (or dull gold ) on the Prospect cards do not have the same eye appeal as the previous year. I'm not gonna keep buying more hobby boxes just to try to get more 'neon icons' or 'planet metal' cards. PMGs will still be the main draw here, along with autos and Jambalaya. They obviously knew this set was a down grade from last year otherwise they wouldn't have cut the price in half for hobby boxes....that's the main sign of a let-down product. Too bad cause I'm a big fan normally of metal universe. Better luck next year! Thanks for the fun review and keep smiling 👍🙂

Retail is just if you have 30 usd and are curious what they look like , I’d rather have a 150 usd hobby box than 5 blasters all day . This is priced lower out of the gate than last year. Last year I think lcs wanted around 300 usd at release . And remember kids , epack will crush the value of all but the biggest hits .

I like the inserts Metal Universe has but will agree 20-21 looks like the superior of the two. I do like the "Pitter Patter" inserts but they shouldn't be 1:75 packs to pull

Upper deck needs to notice this. Any box that isn't flag ship 100 bucks and over, guaranteed auto. I got a artifacts hobby box for Christmas and got two jersey cards and a aurum. At that price point, I might not get artifacts again.

Not saying anything about content and value, but the cards look great. I liked how they went with bold picture choices as a lot of the players have various colorful or retro jerseys. The Lehner and Mac base cards spring to mind.

I loved last years skybox, can’t believe they’ve completely dropped the ball this time. The goalie, alon and prospects inserts all looked good and the parallels were fun. Not a single nice design this year and they’ve dropped the autos as well… The cheese Caufield was my breaking point
