@@mikenyc1589 firmware updates are very easy to come by. You can update all types of devices yourself.Just google the firm ware. Like “poison Rom “ on his website etc. and you manually dk it for better experience. There are others that turn. Older boxes into much better operating devices

The big issue is the resolution. My old box got a really sharp picture compared to this one. It's something that you would never notice if you havn't had a high end box to compare it to. it's a great box compared to others i used. I decided to save it as a spare in case my old one stopped working. The only thing wrong with my old box is it gets 6.0 os and some apps stopped working like the Facebook app and the messenger . I have to use a browser to get on Facebook.

Shadily only manufacturers I have direct contact with are Mecool, Ugoos, Pendoo, Zoomtak, Zidoo, Video strong, and Sunvell. Now what happen is that different "brands" are made in sometimes made in a particular factory. The brands themselves don't own these factories which makes it difficult figure out which factory actually makes it. The retailers are sometimes clueless as they deal with the brand owners. The brand owners are tight lipped on who their manufacturers are.

I don't understand, this box is being advertised as hosting ddr4 ram, yet inside it is apparently ddr3 ram... Since your review, have things been fixed with the major issues you've encountered ? Best of luck for your channel.

I always leave room for that correction, because I have seen it happen before. Notice how sometimes in the product description you don't get the RAM type as if fear of listing that it's DDR3 will result in low sales. I don't do much teardowns because sometimes I see the boxes after review, so as to maintain it's value. However, If you opens it and verifies it's RAM type then I have no problem correcting my description details, once they are accurate.

I have the older A95X Max version and I can tell you the developers doesnt care about updates. Also the Wifi quality is crap, I've got an AP to plug a cable direct to a95x to make it work. I really want to know if the box accepts dual boot. Thanks for your nice video.

I didn't cover that feature because recording streams without permission on KZbin is demonstrating how to pirate movies, so that's a violation. HDCP also blocks and recording of premium service.

Hi viewer I appreciated the support. However this video was created since 2021 and believe me A95X have not provided any firmware updates since the release of this video to fix any of these issues. Your best chance might be to find a custom firmware. Your best chance at finding a solution would be to ask this guy on this form forum.atvxperience.com/viewforum.php?f=35. He left to attend the University and I don't know if he still updates his forum. But he was the one who created the first custom ROM for the previous A95X max model.

I have just got this box but have found it impossible to root. Tried several different apps. The root switch function in the software does absolutely nothing as well, as you mentioned in this video at 6:04. I've just purchased this A95X Maxx II and although I have it connected to the Internet with no problems, I want to also transfer files from my PC to the A95X and I can't seem to be able to do this like I did with my old Popcorn C200 player. Usually, I would use the "map network drive" function in Windows 10 and enter the IP address of the box, then I'm prompted for a username and password to complete the connection. On my Popcorn this was a doddle, but on my A95X I can't seem to be able to find what the default username/password is for the device. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Note: this is my first time ever using an Android based streamer so I may be doing things completely wrong.

Hello I bought it. Remote control work only from 0,5 meter. it does not work more from 0,5 meter. Also, I montage 2 TB 2,5 hdd. But it is not shown. I tried other file manager applications. again dont been.. What Could I do? it show from Eternal HDD shown with usb 3.

Well first I recommend that you purchase an air-mouse. Stock remotes are usually not very good. Check the format of the drive If NTSC try Fat32 or eXFat and see if reads.

Reading 160GB and NTFS hdd. It cannot be Fat 32, because there are mkv movies with dolby digital sound in 2 tb HDD. I wish you had said the remote was that bad.

That is a feature found in most modern desktop PCs with a Power Supply. It has the ability to out a 5V supply Via USB even if the CPU is shut down. This box has that feature also. It's purpose of this feature in PCs and in this box, is to allow charging of mobile devices connected to it even if the PC or box in this case is off.

Hi everyone, I've just bought this box. Can anyone please confirm what's being used to play video files? I have a couple of WD HD (1x4tb/1x5tb) and no matter what format I play (sd through to 4k) I'm getting frame drops every couple of seconds which aren't showing in the review vid? I'm using Kodi (18.9) and I've tried tweaking every video option in the expert menus. Are these test video being played through some other app? If so, which one??? Many, many thanks...

VLC player all the time in every video I make. In the settings area set Hardware Acceleration to Full, and under Audio settings enable audio passthrough. Use as you default media player

I never got around to trying Armbian or Manjaro on this model as it was not highend enough for me. However in theory is should work one of the DTBs from other S905X3 boxes. Will take some trial and error till you find the right one.
