100 k for a van that will be worth 5 k in ten years if you are lucky and 30 k for grounds rent rip of electricity rip of bottles of gas rip of water charges dont fall into the trap most people keep them a few years the get in financial difficulties and end up owing more on the finance

your negative comment really isn't necessary. I have a holiday home & know many that have had theirs years & years, they wouldn't part with them. You are tarring everyone with your negative personal opinion. Also I think you mean 3k ground rent not 30k. Also A Gas bottle lasts a long long time. Also Most Camp sites give you 2 lots of free water a year approx the size of a shed. (I've forgot the amount in liquid measurement) Also holiday homes hold their value extremely well. Also You'd get a rusted out bucket for 5k that no decent camp resort would take.

That's even if the "Ground rent' stays at 3k of which I doubt very much. Most good parks will ask up to 6k per years and also ask you to vacate the property for 4 weeks of the year. And one other thing, I have been reading about the removal of "Older caravans from parks. So if your caravan is knocking on the 10-15 years there is every chance you will be asked to "Upgrade or leave. I would like to live this lifestyle but sadly there is so many hidden costs.
