[2021] Africa Tram San Diego Zoo Safari Park | FULL RIDE

The Africa Tram at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is OPEN! I'm so excited. Easily the best park about the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is the Africa Tram. And it's the feature of the park that I've missed the most during these times.
After California reopened for business as usual on June 15th, 2021, the Africa Tram at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park reopened with much fanfare by its adoring fans.
Quite literally.
As soon as the ride finished, our whole tram filled with people burst into applause. We've missed the Africa Tram so much!

It's a fantastic tour. I learn something new every time I ride it. Going on an actual African Safari is on my bucket list. Not next year, as we're already planning a Hawaii trip. But perhaps the following year.

Absolutely! The Africa Tram is my favorite part of the whole Safari park I think. We ride it every single time we visit. Or we did when we used to only go 3-4 times a year. Not sure if my youngest will have the patience for riding it every visit now. He was already losing his patience by the end.

The Jungle Ropes Safari was removed from their website. Everything is still there. But I haven’t seen anyone on it in a really long time.

Hi I just came across your videos. We're planning a trip to the Safari Park with my kids and was wondering how long does it take to make your to the Africa Tram? Any idea on what time they start? We're at the park only for a day.

It used to start at 10 AM, but their website says 9:15 AM now. So that means 15 minutes after park opening. And I would say that’s a good estimate for how long it would take to get there. You’ll have plenty of time to see the whole park in a single day. It takes about 4-5 hours on average. 6 if you move a little slower.

I just went today with my mom it was epic, I recommend you bring your own food tho they don’t check and saved me about $100 . The tree kangaroo is pretty cool too her name is Luna there’s only 25 in the world very epic. Here’s a pro tip the first aid office has the best AC I have ever experienced in my life so if you’re overheated just pop and cool off the front desk lady is very nice she helped my mom with her toe👍.

We love the Safari Park too. Benjamin has been in the first aid station twice I think. He is accident prone I guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😂

Hi! Great video! Im going to California next week 😀 I have a question, do i need to do reservations for the Safari Park, or the Zoo? The Africatram has any extra cost? Or does it come included in the price for the Safari Park?

No reservations are needed! And the Africa Tram is included with admission. They do have some paid safaris, but this isn’t one of them. Hope you enjoy!

Just found your channel...I'm jeff...My buddy and I r coming 2 SD 10/28-11/3...We have Safari on Friday, SeaWorld Monday, Zoo on Tuesday...Your vids r helping me pre-plan our 3 places...Thank You...Am I allowed 2 bring my joby stick 2 all 3 theme parks? It is small and has folding legs…It acts as my iPhone steadier…It extends but I never extend and keep it locked…I mainly use it 4 my vlogs…I also have a camcorder if the joby stick isn’t allowed…

I think Disney is the only one that cares about it extending. They are the only ones who ever ask me. I wouldn’t walk around with it extended though. As you said you usually keep to locked. So long as that’s all you do you should be fine. I’ve never seen anyone with selfie sticks taking photos of animals so I imagine that’s frowned upon or not allowed.

Yes, the Africa Tram is a 30 minute ride. The Safari Park is a full-on Zoo that you can spend 4-5 hours walking around without even doing the Africa Tram.

So they offer a variety of tours which are the type of thing you’re referring to. Those are 90-minute tours that go around a different exhibit. Some of them let you get off the cart, some let you feed animals, etc. These have the additional costs. The Africa Tram is a free experience that lasts about 25 minutes, doesn’t get super up close, but is a decent ride and one I highly recommend.

@@jacobs4985 The only one we’ve done is the Deluxe Flightline Safari, which is the zipline with an extra 30-minute cart Safari tour on your way up to the zipline. Instead of just driving straight up there they take you around the Asian plains which is kind of like the Africa one for the tram, but it’s one you can ONLY access via paid tour. I think the upgrade to deluxe was worth it for the extra 30 minute tour. But I haven’t don’t any of the other things yet.

The lions are at the very end of the tour. We went right by their exhibit. But they weren’t in a viewable location as is often the case with the lions. They sleep a lot in the shade. No elephants, no. They are all in a different part of the Safari park.

Elephants are in a different part of the park because elephants are too large, strong, and smart to live in the other habitats with other animals, plus their niche in the ecosystem would be too difficult to accommodate if they lived in the large savanna habitats. They have their own 6 acres in the park, it just doesn't share space with other species

The video camera makes them look further away than they are, but for the most part, yes, they are not super duper close to the ride vehicle. They have some paid experiences that get you up close for around $50-$90/person depending on the experience.
