I'm NOT surprised at all. I tuned my VW sportwagen TDI. Thats a 4cyl diesel 140Hp with 240 ft/lbs of torque. Stage one is just a software update. It bumps it up to 170Hp and 300 ft/lbs. Now imagine what a software update can do to a V8 twin turbocharged and over 4L gasoline engine.

RS6 Avant has been my ultimate dream car forever. My 2020 A4 Allroad is as close as I’ve come so far. Two different animals for sure. My 2018 S3 was absolutely great as a sub compact sports sedan as a daily driver, but compared to my Allroad I don’t miss it at all. But my goodness, here in Atlanta I’ve seen our resident grey RS6 Avant several times and I’m so jealous.

I was in an accident because the person was drunk driving and rear-ended me. Luckily wasn't an SUV but now I'm terrified of it ever happening again. So that puts one more SUV / truck on the road that doesn't really need to be there. I'm a very small person. And I want as many safety features as humanly possible.

@Maxwell Benz Unfortunately, SUVs only give the illusion of being safer- the higher CG makes it much harder to avoid an accident because they are not as agile and less stable in windy conditions. Hopefully you won't ever be in another accident but stay aware and don't let the SUV give you a false sense of security. Stay safe out there!

@salah Dehina As the owner of an C7 RS6 Performance (previously owning [to name a few] a Mini, Lotus 7, R32, 911, 930, RS5 and Lancia Stratos), …understated but muscular looks were key, along with practicality, quattro and an Akrapovic exhaust. I note that Merc have recently addressed the AWD point. Was tempted with the Merc AMG GT (stunning looks) but it’s impractical and too tail happy for country roads. Merc wagons don’t do it for me. Just a view (from someone who can claim to have owned “sporty cars”).

I don't see why there would be a hard choice choosing between the 2. You pretty much can't feel 3 car lengths in a quarter mile. IF you like the Audi inside and outside, buying the Merc is never going to make you happy. Most Audi tunes are done in minutes and with new modules, they won't throw a TD1.

I had $5,000 CAD down on a 2020 Audi RS6, but switched to a Cadillac CT6-V with a 4.2L TT V8 (550 hp & 640 lb-ft) for a lot less money (also less, all-out performance). For $7,779 CAD more, I got GM’s Protection Plan Total Plus Warranty AND GM’s Essential & Enhanced Maintenance Care for 7 years. You can go with your brain or your heart; either way has compromises, regrets, and joys. I felt that the Germans wanted too much. In spite of bozo Donald, I leave as much money as I can on this side :)

This is the first video of yours I've watched twice and I watch all as soon as they come out. These are two cars I have been seriously looking at. Your review of the RS5 Sportback was bang on with the fact when you spend over $100,000 you can't get heated steering wheel(with sport wheel as most have been ordered) and ventilated seats. I have owned both Audi and Merc and currently have a Merc. When it comes to exterior looks the RS6 takes it, hands down, as for interior it would be the E63s. I think drift mode is very cool....but would never use it, unfortunately. I think without driving or sitting in either I would choose the RS6, the exterior looks and presence wins.

well practically every single modern car will get more hp and torque from a tune, not just audi. problem is though, reliability will suffer. Better off leaving your car stock, or if you want more power, buy another car which has more oem power.

Thanks for the video. I miss in all the videos how these cars behave in a narrow (3 meters wide) mountain road. It is nice to drift and so forth, even to (as shown in German autobahn) reach 300km/h. But I still miss how it can run on narrow roads like Italian, Swiss, French Alps, the Spanish Pyrenees, or the Greek roads (where I usually drive at)

Finally! finally, someone showed the world that even though Audi is always at the bottom of the score board when it comes to German performance cars and their spec sheet in comparison to the "M" and "AMG" family in their stock form, all it takes is a Tune! Can someone explain how they can just tune up the turbo to put out different amounts of power? How costly is this to fuel economy? any other downsides? Very delayed. But you basically just up the boost on the turbo and change the fuel map for the increased boost. This will increase heat generated by the turbo and cause more wear and tear, affecting reliability.

I've driven both of them. I had a few Audis and a friend has the AMG E63s. I owned an S6 but had a RS6 for 2 months and did 1,500 mile trip. The Audi is way better in the snow and both cars had similar all-weather tires. In fact about the only car that really hung with the RS6 or S6 in the snow was a Tesla S. Great Video. Can anyone answer me this question please. When you tune this car the way they did in the video can that cause any damage to the engine or the transmission and can it stay tuned at that level or is it recommended to bring it back down to stock? Thank you in advance for any answers.
