2021 Beneteau Oceanis 35.1

I did rent one of these this summer in Croatia. PROS : as many French boats it sails like a champ. Very rigid and stable on sails, does not heel a lot. Very comfortable for this size. Cockpit is very large, allowed by modern hull design. We liked a lot the cockpit area and the swimming platform. Ideal for 6 people. CONS : this boat is the perfect example of the tendency on production boats to cut corners and save money on amenities. Bulkheads are not completely glued, just stuck in deck groves, and maintain in place by a Sikaflex filet. Cabinets and floors are lightweight (thats good) but too light thats bad for rigidity and longevity. Lots of squeaking by almost every wood pieces! And certainly not durable... Also every hardware on deck is sized at the minimum to handle the task (with normal usage) . I would not cross oceans with it. Unfortunately because we loved a lot the hull design. Maybe Beneteau can produce a "STRONG" version ?

Adam is the furling main on the 35.1 a square top design?

Not with the furling main, at least not standard form factory. I supposed you could have one made, but i think it would cause more problems than wanted. Traditional main would be no problem of course.

You need to learn how to move your camera slower, so you don't make people motion sick! LOL! Why is tankage such a hidden subject? That is one of the most important considerations for me. If I am going to be sailing around the gulf or Caribbean , I need fuel and water. Is Beneteau bashful about their tankage, because there is so little? If you spend all your time in a marina, it doesn't matter, but I plan to visit remote islands and beaches for weeks at a time.

i own one - can attest to their tank being tiny. Not happy about it, and trying to figure out how to increase my capacity.

Good but not a strong and solid boat like American Catalina.!!!
