So disappointed that the driver assistant Pro pack costs a fortune where it comes as standard on lots of other makes (Lane keep assist + Lane departure warning + adaptive cruise control). Also, the visibility pack on bmw's means adaptive laser lights + auto high beam. As standard they come with led headlights.

Sadly we can’t get the visibility pack anymore on the M sport, we’re forced to have to take M Sport Pro package to get the adaptive LED’s. The ride is too hard on 20inch run flats so I’m ordering mine without the Pro pack. Non-run flat 19s will do nicely.

Great review! I’ve had a few G31 M sport Tourings and loved them all. They were on 19’s wheels. I then bought a 530d Xdrive saloon that was on 20 inch wheels. Whilst I loved the engine capability I couldn’t stick the ride. It crashed and banged over bad roads (I live in Ireland unfortunately). So I’m now looking at same car as you reviewed ie 21 Touring with M Sport Pro pack. Car is in Uk so I’m going to have to buy it without actually seeing it in the flesh. My only concern is the ride, as it is on 20’s. I’m hoping that the rear air suspension will hopefully make it less hard than the 530d X drive. Also as it’s a 520d there won’t be as much weight hanging out over the front when compared to the 530d. I’m just wondering how you found the ride over bad roads (potholes) etc ? Thanks 🙏

Thank you mate, appreciated. The air suspension really does help loads. I had a 2017 G31 520d (New model) for 2 years and it was spot on. I now have a G30 with 20s but no air suspension and it's a bit bumpy for sure. But moving to normal tyrs from the run flats when needed shpuld be the ticket. Just an awesome car, wish more knew just how good these are. Or maybe that's a best kept secret lol. Cheers 🍻

Thanks, I’ll chance it so😀. Worst case I’ll put non run flats on it if I can’t stick it. The other alternative is a 21 G30 530 d x drive M sport saloon. But it doesn’t have the pro pack so on 19’s. I need the touring for the dog though.

@@doorrob All I would say having had the 520d if you do like a bit more power then the 530d is such a peach of an engine. I do wish I went for that in hindsight. But you can also get plug and okay chip tunes for the 520d that makes it a fair bit faster, which I went for. But it has to be the overall right balance and I would say ride quality for you and dog will also be important.

Absurd that they don't come with adaptive cruise control as standard. Ones with it are like hens teeth on the used market.

@ln5747 agreed. But the G30 and G31 seem to be peak 5 series. So make sure to take time, find the exact one you want. They are a keeper. I've got a fully loaded 540i now, best car I've ever owned. Cheers 🍻

That's very true. The new one just isn't as nice. So glad I got my 540i in the end. Loaded with all the packs as well. And you know what, I'll probably get the 2023 M5 next. Not a fan of the new 5 series.

@@rev-viewsauto It’s sad, a new model should be progress from the last model, if you sold the old model next to the new hardly anyone would choose the g60-g61, and looking at the other BMW models it’s clear that BMW have totally lost it!
