Have this in black. Was deciding between m5, e63, Panamera gts, but decided to give it a shot. So glad I got this. So, so quick. 65 to going-to-jail speed is so quick. Literally the quickest car on the road almost all the time while luxurious enough for dates. Oh, and the price delta left money to upgrade the home AV. Only negative is the wear and tear on the tires because of crappy Texas roads. 7 tires and one cracked rim in 26 months. 3 due to poor road surfaces. Just got the wheel fixed ( small crack, -2-3 psi per week) Get the tires and wheel warranties. Otherwise, strong endorsement.

​@@kordaxmint533N63 in this M550i is a TU3 generation (Technical update 3), which now has carbon supported pistons and laser galvanized cylinder walls, with all the other parts brought up to the level of S63, including the update for infamous rod bearings. Thus, this generation of M550i is expected to be reliable. Also, I drove mine M550i for 12500 km (7767 miles), driving it frequently full speed on german autobahn, and it did not consume a single drop of oil until now.

Review is spot on accurate! All the "M50i" models are really better than their full M versions. The M50i have more luxury and comfort as well as absurd V8TT power. The ride on the large full M cars/SUV's are now too stiff for the vehicle size. Reality check: no one is tracking these full size vehicles so living with the harsh full M ride is absurd.

I have one in a dark charcoal color, with black interior. It is scary to drive in sport mode, it gives you heart palpitations. One thing that he failed to mention is that the brakes are phenomenal and so smooth. I have owned many cars and 5 BMWs, and this is the best one yet. Pure joy to drive.

This is a fantastic car, no doubt... The M5 competition though has + and - control on the gear lever which allows you to adjust the quickness of the gear shifts (up and down shifts), It's a great shame that this is not available on the M550i but the M550i as it is, is better looking than the Audi RS-6 and faster ! - so this is more than good enough ! - 10/10 to BMW for creating the perfect all round daily driver !

I ordered mine in San Marino Blue, did not take the options I didn't need, so the sticker on it was less than most of them sitting at dealers. You will enjoy it a lot. If roads are bad, highly recommend wheels and tire insurance.

Yes. I bought a 2018 M550i about a month ago and I absolutely love it. The only down side compared to my previous 340i is the weight.

So unfortunately we replaced the M550i with an X3 M40i, which has one of the best engines ever (B58), but it's less powerful and stable on the road than the M550i. I think the M550i was the best car I ever had. Fuel consumption was lower than the X3...

I have a 2018 M550i which I had them Dinan tune at the dealership. It turned it into pretty much a more comfortable stealth M5. Just shy of 600 warrantied horsepower. Its such a fun sleeper.

Mat Watson from Carwow would advise to avoid the M5 Competition, solely cos of the M550i. It’s still got the 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8, but 95 horsepower less.

Yes, F10 M5 is stiffer, sharper and more precise when it comes to steering. But slower than the new M550i.

M5 competion, M5CS, Aplina B5 and Simple M5. This cars have priority. If you don't have enough money you go for the M550i. If you don't have enough money and you can't afford a v8 you go for the 540i If you have money and you have more cars and you just want comfortable and eco car you go for the M550d, 540d or Alpina D5 If you want to buy a 5 series and you want to have some power you get the 530. If you just want a 5 series cheap 520

Many many people would love a Diesel or have their passion for 6 Cylinders much more with lots of Power instead of a high Power M5 V8. These extreme Sport Cars for the Track are really loved by a Low Percentage of people. The couneceurs with Track Focus. The rest are all show makers.. Like look what I've got here.. there is bimmercode for G20 and G30 LCi to code on a 300 kmh gauge but i think the only tuning brand that managed to find a way to remove the limiter on this complicated BMW system is Evolve with the Evolve M5, correct me if im wrong
