Hi Don. Ya me again! Lol. I just wanted to ask you at what point did you do your first servicing on your X xc? There are so many varying opinions online and I don't find the manual much help. I'm only at 188kms and I'm not sure of the hours but I know I'll blow by the 300km engine break in total this weekend. Thanks for your time.
@DonsATVAdventures2 жыл бұрын
i did mine around 1100 kms . Anywhere around the 1000kms mark is fine from what iv been told by a canam mechanic. I think the book says something like 3000 kms doesn't it ? i forget now..lol. I do all my follow up services every 1000 aswell , it might be overkill but especially when using synthetic but iv always used that number.

Nice machine. As normal for all makes, you have to spend 100's in after market stuff which should have come stock from the factory on a top line model like that.....ie: Mirrors, Foam Air Filter etc....1000's if you want to go full out complete, ....skid plates, rock sliders....Great machines but just not for me. I'll stick with my Grizzly. I have driven a few side x sides and don't feel connected to the ground like on a quad. The deal breaker on a side x side for me is getting turned around on a tight trail. Just about everytime I ride with guys who drive them, at some point we have to get turned around for some reason or another, often in very confined conditions. The side x sides will fit down just about any trail, but getting turned around can be a real pain.

ya in a tight trail turning around can be fun... lol. I still have my Grizzly, actually rode it Saturday for the first time in 3 months..lol. I do enjoy the sxs though , amazing how much they go through

Difference between Trail and Trail Active wouldn't be so noticeable on a 100hp Sport. If you do notice a difference, it will be absolutely driving the piss out of the thing like a rally car. But that is not really a strength of the Sport models. The difference is extremely noticeable on a 200hp X3 when pushing hard out of corners. But the Smart Loc is an awesome diff either way for your Sport👍.

good to know because like i said i cant tell much of a difference.

@@DonsATVAdventures In a nutshell, it will give you far less over steer getting on the throttle in mid corner and corner exit. The front wheels will help pull the front end around the corner quite a bit. Almost like an on rails kind of thing...

Hi Don. Where did you get your middle bag between the seats? I've been looking at a few different kinds and can't decide on one. Also I just put low beam LED headlight bulbs in my 2022 X xc and they seem awesome. Beamtech H11. Apparently Sylvania LED headlight bulbs fit in the high beam without modification. I haven't changed my high beems because I never use them. To narrow. I like seeing out to the sides of the trails a bit and high beems seem more like a spot light. Just put my VIP air fender flares on tonight 👍. Have an awesome trip to Hatfield and McCoy's and make sure you get lots of video!!!

the door bags and the bag between the seats are all from canam . Definitely recommend the door bags too because they work awesome for knee pads aswell.

Awesome thanks for the reply. And one more thing do you happen to remember the model # for the Husky box? Is it 249208 by chance? I think they have one in stock over in Belleville if that's the one. 35 inch and $118 I believe.
@DonsATVAdventures2 жыл бұрын
@@benmayhew373 yes i believe thats the one . I know i paid about 120 i think if i remember correctly. Do you know how to mount it ? Msg me on fb if you want to know anything else im happy to help if i can .
@benmayhew3732 жыл бұрын
Thanks Don and yes I think I can get it in and secured properly. I watched a video on KZbin from a guy down in the states and he showed how you have to grind a little bit off of the heads of the bolts to get them to slide into the channels and then center it and tap the bottom at the 4 bolt locations to get some marks to drill and then go from there. And I'm not a Facebook user...proudly. 🍻

Did you look at the Rmax and other brands.
@DonsATVAdventures2 жыл бұрын
yes i did actually. I couldn't find any Rmax's around that weren't already spoken for unfortunately . Rmax was my first choice since im a Yamaha guy from the beginning. A friend of mine had a maverick sport already and he was having good luck with it so i started researching them . Iv never been a Polaris fan so they were out basically and I rode a friend's Honda Talon and it was ok but i kinda like the smoothness of the cvt or the shifting mind you i would take a talon over a yxz because the talon has the auto shift feature which i liked . The kawi was wider so i stayed away from it but iv heard good things about it .

How do you find the wheel flairs ? Did you add the 2 inch extensions to the original 3 inch flares that come on it ? I am thinking of getting one of these but really hate the thought of cleaning all,the mud and crap out of it all the time. Is the entire cab sealed from stuff coming in from the front and rear ? Do you get all kinds of mud and water coming in the cab over the front and from the wheels flicking it up on the sides ?
@DonsATVAdventures Жыл бұрын
i actually dont have the xxc anymore but i can answer your questions. The xxc doors are sealed very well actually so very little gets in through the doors if your in deep water. As for the fender flares i just bought the canam flares so they are between 2 and 3 inches id say . The xxc doesn't come with any to start with but the extended flares most definitely helped and no its not difficult to wash out the mud under the fenders

Hi Don. I've talked to you before but it's been a while. I'm actually just starting the process of getting a sxs myself. I just sold my 2021 Grizzly today and I miss it already. Great atv. Anyway I live in Frankford and ride a lot of the same trails as you...well actually I want to ride the same trails as you. Lol. Anyway just like you I want an rmax but I don't want to wait until fall so I've put a deposit down on a 2022 can am maverick sport dps 1000r with the hopes that it'll be in by May. I'm definitely nervous about the reliability. I hear great things and horrible things. Hopefully see you on the trails come May/June. 👍

So far the only issue I've had has been the speed sensor after 2000 kms. It was within the 6 month warranty so didn't cost me anything but I also bought the "Best" extended warranty so in total I have 3 years coverage basically. Feel free to join us on a ride anytime. My fb group is the same name as my KZbin.

I'm not sure if I've told you this already but I picked up my new sxs 2 days ago from Bay Marine. 2022 Can Am maverick sport xxc 1000r!!! I haven't had time to drive it yet with being busy plus our crazy weather but man it's a beauty. Literally loaded it on the trailer and unloaded it straight into the garage. I'm hoping to get my accessories on tomorrow and drive it asap. I've got a roof, half windshield, rear window screen and side mirrors to put on. Hope to see you on the trails soon. Come on summer!!!
