Hi Cat saw you up Ticknock today - said hello but you didn't hear me. Hope you had a great ride. And thanks for this video - good timing as was thinking of buying one for my son.

Ah no way I’m sorry I didn’t hear you. I wear earphones while I bike so that could have been why. Hopefully we’ll meet again! It’s a great bike and let me know if ye go ahead with it! 😃

Another great vid mate, I was surprised that so much went wrong with the bike at the start. But as you said great service from the brand, well I'm still out of action looking at August when I can start to hit the trails again fingers crossed. Again as always can't wait for the next Upload 🤘🏻

I really don't understand why bike companies are using the E-Thirteen cranks. There's tons of reports of them falling off on the Orbea Rise bikes too. I'm getting a bit nervous about that now. My Rise is due to arrive in July and I sure don't want my cranks to fall off while riding on some steep, fast hills. It could be deadly. Even though you had a good service experience, two weeks is still a lot of time to be without a bike if it's your only bike. Great video as always Cat!
@CatMTBPilot3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Brendan! It’s a tad worrying alright. Definitely keep an eye on them when you get the bike and make sure they are torqued up. I think they recommend around 14 nm and each bolt at equal intervals.
@roblippe42453 жыл бұрын
Hi - I have taken them off my Meta Power - now riding 160mm shimano XT. That said - there is a bulletin from e13 that updates the torque specs and asks you to remove an o-ring from the back of each crank allowing it to seat on the axle a bit deeper. I had mine torqued to 16nm, with the caps (with loctite) to 5nm. I had them marked so I would know if they moved. With all that - they performed fine - but was still a bit disconcerting (so replaced once shimano's were available). Hope this helps - have fun/be safe.

@@roblippe4245 I haven't managed to find the Shimano ones in Canada, or even the US. And for some reason Europe won't ship any Shimano stuff to Canada. Still looking. Is it the FC-EM900 cranks that you have now?

Hi - I got the Shimano Steps M8150 Black 160 mm Ref: 12547319 from BikeInn.
@brendan13 жыл бұрын
@@roblippe4245 Very interesting. When I searched for that on BikeInn, I got this message: "Due to the Shimano new regulations relating to distribution, we are not allowed to ship some products of this brand to Canada"

A well balanced review Cat, thanks. I looked at the SX but opted for the Kenevo Expert (which I luuuuurve) due to the better support network over here in the UK. Although good to hear Commencal gave you their full attention when needed. That trail looks amazing!! :)

Yeah I know we were delighted. Hopefully yours arrives quicker too. We ordered it in December and expected delivery was Feb. Got an e mail from DHL saying something was on the way in Jan, and turned out to be the bike so only took two weeks from ordering which is pretty awesome alright. 😃

Spot on. Loving my Sig model and agree with all your points. It’s a shame about the e13 stuff - looks nice but... The L is a big L - you seem to be handling it well! Would you mind sharing the bash guard info? Mine is still intact but has taken some shots. Enjoyed the video!

Replying to my own post (a bit weird admittedly) -- did find the info on the Amygos Frame/Motor protector. Was all ready to order... but unfortunately no US delivery (ugh). Anybody coming this way and can drop off? : )
@CatMTBPilot3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the comment and I see you answered your question!🤣 Sorry that they don’t deliver to the US. It’s a great product, have it on my Kenevo and gives great confidence you’re not doing any damage to the motor if you bash it out on the trails.
