The sound of the engine when it was revved reminded me of the Holden Equinox when it was tested on this channel.

They’re a very similar car in spirit, medium SUV from an American brand. Looks good, but you’ll wish you had gone with a RAV4 or CX-5 once the warranty runs out and you have to finally come to terms with all the American engineering under the bonnet.

@@User-cb4jm you may have a point (though Mazdas and Toyotas are not without their problems these days either), although many anecdotal reports suggest the Euro Fords (other than the debacle with the Getrag dry dual clutch trans years ago) can be quite reliable for some time. A point of correction however is that there is very little American engineering in this (as opposed to the Equinox which was an American-Korean debacle) as most of the engineering in this is German. The C2 platform was developed in Germany for Ford C-segment cars globally (Focus Gen 4 was the first to use it, a car that has never even been sold in the USA) and most of the engineering on the drivetrain is also euro componentry - although interestingly, the base design of this motor is Japanese - it dates back to a Mazda design from when Ford owned them.

Love the car definitely underrated in the segment, not sure about the Vignale name. Understand it’s the top spec model name in Europe but Ghia was a much better name. Not just only in the Falcon/Fairmont/Fairlane range but even the Fiesta and Focus sounded very upspec with the Ghia name attached

Don't think of it as a let down. Those halogens may not be like an Audi LED tail lights but even the Sorento has that as well I think , and the Subaru Forester..not many AWD cars have those complete bells and whistles, and you know what, who the hell needs them. We've become addicted to having stuff which we don't even need. Since when do rear halogens cost money to replace? They are easy and cheap and still look good. Go quote any progressive LED light, there's no such thing ! You need the entire light assembly..in my current car, one light is 1600 AUD. I wish I had halogen. And be ause my car is fitted with every single new safety feature, I can't install the base model lights because the features won't work, the light won't work either. Join Facebook group pages of a car that you like...then and only then will you truly see what it's like to live with. I love the CX9 because it has all the features but misses out on new ambient lights and that shape has been around for long but now I'm thinking I want a good old speedo cluster and buttons, I don't want this electric LCD dash cluster and ambient lights ! Who the heck cares ! Honestly we need to evaluate what's important and what's not.

@南川あさかチャンネル Some do and others do not...personally after ownership...the halogens are cheap and available to replace. Nobody wants to change the other types of lights, and like I said before, if the lights will stop you from buying the car you want, then the problem is the buyer not the car.
@User-cb4jm

@@ranimbill9331 they look like crap, are dimmer, light up slow/not crisply and the ones on my old car blew out not that rarely. I’ve NEVER had to replace a LED. You don’t care about them, but that’s YOU, speak for yourself and not others. People spend thousands on certain types of paint or bodykits, I just think all LED lighting should be standard, aesthetically. Yes we don’t “need” them but if I’m getting a new car after many years I’d like it to look and feel new and have lights that complement the modern design rather than look like an afterthought. I love the virtual cockpit and ambient lights, I think they look great at night. Again if you’re paranoid about things breaking you’re welcome to drive a 20yo manual Corolla with wind up windows and manual locks… I’m sure nothing will ever go wrong. You’ll love it! Meanwhile let the rest us of who want to splurge on a new car enjoy the full modern experience - again all you’ve stated is YOU don’t care about it, so YOU evaluate what you find important and the rest of us will do the same.

They can’t get them since shortly after launch due to Covid in Spain where they are made. They won’t sell many when they can though either - Ford market them poorly here and Australians buy what they see everyone else buy (RAV4, CX5 and Hyundai/Kia in this segment), rightly or wrongly

This encapsulates the philosophy for cars in the US and Aus: big, heavy, great straight line performance and probably poor handling. Perhaps in may be useful if PDrive TC added a simple cornering or lane change test? Thx:)

@@User-cb4jm Reliability should be good. Ford and Holden and Toyota ran this country. No car manufacturer produces a car without some gremlins sometimes. I've seen many Toyota corollas with burnt paint on the roof at 37000 km ! I've seen a ripped steering wheel at 12,000 km. All on 2014 Toyota's. I personally like Ford and Mazda. Toyota doesn't create anything I would look at twice. I have a focus ST 2016 model since new. And won't sell it. No issues. I had 2 small separate small issues with the infotainment and was covered under warranty. Since when is Ford not reliable? Remember that Police and taxis used them and most Government agencies. And Australian car enthusiasts and Bathurst 1000. That's Ford.
