Why do so many of you guys not like the Mach-e? It’s a smart move for ford. Think about it like this. When someone is looking for an electric car, Tesla usually comes up first. Since the Mach-e is challenging Tesla, using the famous mustang nameplate is smart because pretty much everyone knows what a mustang is. If ford were to use another name, we have no way of knowing but, I feel the car would just be put aside.

I've owned a Ford Mustang ever since and before I was of legal age to drive. A beautiful 91 LX Red with Red/blk interior 5-sp manual Was my first. I'm very meticulous when it comes to my Mustangs. I know just about as much history of the Ford Mustang as Randy Leffingwell, Mike Mueller, Peter Henshaw and many more can write about. (Off the top of my head) Everything around me has been to show my appreciation and love for Ford Motor Company and Ford Mustang. I'm going to stop here. I could go on and on. But you guys could have named it anything but a Mustang. But you wanted to dig that knife just a bit deeper using Mach last used in 2004. I'd rather watch white paint dry.

I used to live in northern Quebec which goes to -50C and there were many Teslas on the road with no problem on those tempretures, so they're still way ahead in R&D. However I do agree that learning from competitors to improve the current gen capabilities of Lithium Ion is better for future of all electric cars. Side note: I love my 13' Mustang GT Track Pack so I am not biased towards Tesla but overall the better the Mach-E gets, the happier consumers will be, thats why I love competition :)

It’s not a mustang. Mustangs have always been coupes/convertibles. They started as a secretaries car and became the original pony/muscle car. I have no problem with electric but not 4 door crossover. Ford has made enough money without having to muddy the mustang brand. I enjoy telling people I have a Mustang and they know what I drive. When this comes out there will be that confusion/doubt of what I drive.

I think it is NOT a Mustang! I want to see how those dainty door handles, opening the doors, and charging port door work when an ice storm covers the vehicle with 3/4" of an inch of ice. How does it handle 6 inches of snow or plowed up snow at partially cleared intersections versus that 1/2" in in video? Call it a Maverick.
