Finally, someone riding the bike instead of telling me all the specs I can look up in a 10 minute video. Thanks bro
@em84523 жыл бұрын
That clicking noise was on mine too. Apparently if you look at the topic on mtbr there is a lot of people having that problem. My LBS told me it was normal. But it's not. Its not unsafe, but it is annoying as hell. Giant knows about the problem. Send them a message about it. The rest of the bike is awesome. Thanks for sharing the ride. Update: Commented before watching the full video. You already knew.

Hi mate, I recently bought the fathom 2 29 and was considering putting a 27.5 on the rear. Would you have any advice mate? I contacted Giant and they confirmed the frame does have the clearance I'm just not sure about the ride difference. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thankyou :)

what are your thought on that fork three months later? any issues beside the clicking noise? I'm still waiting for my XTC SLR model 1, that's equipped with Crest 34, and I was wondering is the clicking only problem? Also, any suggestion how to check will it click while in store? So I can report it right away when I go to finally pick up my bike. thanks
@DCPROJEKT3 жыл бұрын
No issues beside the clicking! To be honest I either have grown immune to the clicking or it has gone away after putting the miles through it. If you hold on to the front brakes and just push down on the front fork repeatedly you will be able to hear the clicking. - Vy

Can these bikes be used on flat surfaces/ flat tracks without much slopes or am I better looking at bikes with gears that allow faster speeds from peddling/ gearing?
@DCPROJEKT3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can totally use this bike for flat surfaces. Hard tails are great for roads and dirt roads. I would go with a gravel bike if you want to go fast and still ride dirt.
@scottl50673 жыл бұрын
@@DCPROJEKT thanks mate. I’m set on a mtb because I’d like to get into dh trails, however for casual use I just wasn’t too sure if the gearing suited flat surfaces that requires more peddling.

Thanks a lot for the review. On forums many owners suggest to size up if between size. What is your opinion?
@DCPROJEKT3 жыл бұрын
I am in between sizes and I actually chose to size down, so far its been good for me for sub 15 mile 3k elevation rides. I haven't taken the bike on anything longer than that yet.

@Dylanwill89203 жыл бұрын
I really hope this fork clicking noise is not actually a cable tapping the fork or frame? I have had a similar sounding noise on different fork and bike and a quick check of cable movement allowed me to solve it straight away.

Trek roscoe 8 or giant fathom 1 ? 2021 Models
@DCPROJEKT3 жыл бұрын
I don't have the fathom 1 but from a quick glance the stats are pretty similar, I do like that the giant comes tubeless from dealer and that the rosco can be changed to a 29inch tire. I would go with the giant because I would want 29ers stock and don't want to pay for a new wheel set and wheels.

@@DCPROJEKT okay and how about riding these two models on pavement roads? Because I use them mostly on pavement.

@@robo1989 I think they would both ride very similar on road since they are hard tails with similar amounts of travel. I would look into hybrid bikes if you primarily ride pavement as they are lighter frame and more suited for road riding.
