i have the same problem with my Giant TCR pro Team 2021 with wahoo Kore 2020. Giant did not take into account that bicycles are used with rollers.

I'm looking at buying a Wahoo Kickr Core right now aswell, also have a Giant TCR bike. Wahoo is saying the have a new KICKR/CORE 142 Thru Axle Adapters, did anyone try that and does it work?

Just email Wahoo support and they will send you the parts free of charge.

I had same problem and contacted Wahoo yesterday, this was their answer: That being said, our engineers have just finished a new set of thru axel adapters after working with these frame manufactures so that the adapters are tapered and will align the offset through axel they use. They should be available on our website within the next few weeks. So actually adapters are not available yet. I have TCR Advanced 1 Pro 2021, solved it same way as in this video.

So if I take the adapter to a local machine shop, I just need to have them remove 6mm off that flange?

Yes, off the side that shows 148 is what I had done.

I have a trek doman sl5 2021 and a kickr 2017. I did not get the thru axle parts because they say it wil not work with the old kickr. In making my own. Im mad at wahoo. Screw you wahoo

It looks like on the drive side the smallest cog is also too close to the chain and the chain rubs the drop outs on my TCR Advanced Pro. How is clearance looking for you on the drive side?

Yes, it is working perfectly. Just make sure the adapter is the clearing the frame dropout when torqued down!

Shit although its a fix its not the best. I have the 2021 Giant TCR 0 on order. Wont get her till June. I am looking at trainers at the moment. Had a bad crash on ice last week so pushing the button on a trainer sooner rather than later. the Kickr Core was winning my top pick award till i seen your video. I would be using my cross bike on it in the meantime, and then get the Giant on it once she arrives. Are you aware of a good turbo where this is not an issue? I'd rather have a properly fitting adapter out of the box. Thanks for the video mate.

@@jaked8971 I went for the wahoo Kickr core I found an article where if you contact Wahoo they send you an adapt. I have the adapter they sent for 2021 TCR. I actually dont have the bike yet 2021 TCR 0 still on order. But x2 weeks ago I asked if they could switch it to a model with the new 12spd di2 Ultegra as currently bikes delayed till oct. Still waiting to hear back. But the Kickr core is great I use it with Sufferfest

Painkillernl my bike shop talked to the local Giant Rep. and I was told that they haven’t heard of this issue and that they would “look into it”. I did not contact Wahoo either because they don’t sell an adapter that fixes the issue.

Does anyone know if this issue is the same for the 2021 pro team disc model? The only smart trainer available where I live is the wahoo kickr v5 and the customer support out here from Wahoo doesn't seem that reliable.

It should all be the same issue. Last I saw Wahoo started offering a modified axle adapter similar to the one I had modified for my use.

@@bradleyjohnston3434 well I'm glad I found your video. At the moment it's just about the only smart trainer available in Vietnam but I doubt Wahoo could send me the updated adapters in a reasonable amount of time. I'll try to email them and see if they can support me out here.
