These are pro level guitars, don’t let the haters fool you. The pickups and hardware are the same as more expensive models and they have nitro finish. Gibson always have decent resale value too.

@@henrymetal_and_metal_dad Nice! Yes, I think you can’t do wrong with a good tribute or studio for the money. Gibson or an entry-level USA Fender and anyone would be golden. One of those and a decent tube amp is really all anyone needs.

Yeah, these are great guitars, very very lucky and patient enough to have a 2012 traditional and an 2019 sg special in my life too, point being my 2016 tribute may well be my fave of the lot, just a killer no frills real deal les paul that will last a lifetime, thinking of getting one? Go for it!

I have 2. A 2010 56 Tribute with P90s, and a 2021 like the one in the video only Ice Tea. Long time pro and active stage warrior. I have had the top models too, but weight is too much now. The Tributes are top notch guitars and mine are on stage regular.

I just got one of these a few days ago. I am loving it. After some slight adjustments it is totally rad. I got a nice flamed neck on mine which is a plus. Doesn't sound much different than an all mahogany les pauls either, very close. I personally hate weight relief but it sounds great and is resonate. Cool Metallica riffs duder

Got a 2016 Gibson 50s Tribute HP Goldtop from reverb Gibson demo shop. it was modified with chrome Grover tuners, pots and knobs. Has a few scratches that are almost impossible to see. Just an amazing guitar. $999. Great place to find a deal on Gibson guitars.

These are great guitars. I compared a Tribute to a Studio and thought the Tribute felt much better than the Studio, mostly due to the satin finish (especially on the neck). The maple neck is another plus in my book.

The tribute is a most excellent guitar. The weight relief makes it more fun to play without sacrificing anything on tone. The pickups are awesome and the bridge pickup is hot enough to take care of business. As he said in this video, this is truly a player's guitar. The Tribute is the guitar you take to the gig! I got mine a few months ago and now the other guitars have become wall hangers.

So the major consideration if it's between this and the studio the tribute is a satin finish ...and the studio is clear coat with pull pots... I have this tribute and a studio. It seems to me the studio has a thinner neck. I could be wrong, but something to consider as well and possibly look into. The tribute neck seems to me to be between a studio and a special or jr. I love the size of the tribute neck.

The studio does have a thinner neck and I think it's a little lighter than the tribute.... But if you want a really good weight relief Les Paul look at the Les Paul modern it has the best pickup set in it and it's a slim tapered neck that shaved at the neck joint

Bro! I was considering a new LP Tribute in the next couple of days. When you came outta the gate with Fade To Black, I took that as a sign to go and spend the cash now! I'm headed to the "big box" guitar store in Pasadena for a satin cherry sunburst, a new amp, and all the needed accessories needed to start playing AGAIN. @@henrymetal_and_metal_dad Got my satin cherryburst tribute from Sweetwater yesterday(2/28/2021). It is soooo badd ass! Smokin' hot, bright 490 pickups. Was already setup with 10's on it. Had to put a lil' mineral oil on the fretboard. Otherwise, I'm a happy camper. Case/bag is black leather with 2 backpack style straps. Many years of happy jammin' from now on. God bless you bro!☺👍

@@heavyjoechipman3594 The tried fretboard is because of the cleaner they use when it's brand new. After it sits it gives it that dried. Look if you use just a little bit of that Gibson frett board conditioner it brings it back. I hope you enjoy it. That's awesome!

Hii!! Sorry for my English 😅 I have to buy a Les Paul, so, I would buy a Les Paul Studio because I love 498T pickup (like Seymour Duncan JB), but now I hate LP Studio colors… Red Wine is too strange, and Smokehouse is beautiful but too dark. I love color of this Les Paul Tribute, like a Les Paul Jr, it’s awesome! So, now I don’t know if buy Les Paul Studio with 498t and bad color, or a Tribute with nice color but “unknow” pickups… I didn’t know about 490T pickup, I knew only 498T, Burstbucker Pro and 57 Classic. I like everyone, but for my music maybe it’s better 498T (I play punk and alternative rock, but also I need a guitar for more melodic and pop stuff). I saw a video comparison between Studio and Tribute, and you know, it seems Tribute with 490T has a more tight and defined sound, it sounds nice! 498T seems to be fatter and buzzier, or I’m wrong? Maybe I like more 490T… However I’m afraid 490T is too soft and weak respect to 498T, I need an high output pickup like 498T, Burstbucker and JB… So, do you think I should take a 498T or a 490T pickup? I also am thinking about change neck pickup, because I don’t like generally Les Paul neck pu… They are too fat and compressed. I could take a Seymour Duncan 59, or a Gibson P90, do you think it’s a nice idea? 😁
@henrymetal_and_metal_dad
@henrymetal_and_metal_dad 3 жыл бұрын
It's a 490r pickup I'm sorry.. it's for the neck... For punk rock that guitar would do great... The Les Paul tribute is a solid Les Paul sound .. it's a no frills guitar... I will say though the Les Paul special is really good for that as well but make sure you get the one with the humbucker in it..... Personally and I've played a lot of different pickups I think Gibson makes some of the best pickups out there if you feel it's a little too muddy or too deep adjust the settings on your amp... What I like about Gibson pickups is they have a full range of the guitar sound in them... Do you have any questions about any model of Gibson USA I generally have a good deal of knowledge so feel free to ask I put these video goes up to help people make some informed decisions

Hi,thanks for the review. :) My question is the neck profile. In website,it say rounded neck,as far as I can understand,it is something between 59 and 60 slim taper. What do you personally think about playability for fast playing (shred ) stuff ?
@henrymetal_and_metal_dad
@henrymetal_and_metal_dad 2 жыл бұрын
It is a thicker neck, a more slim taper neck would be on the studio ...then ext one up, this is definitely a more c shaped neck but I like either neck...your faster neck with be on your studio, 60s standard, or modern .... Certain specials have them too

The case believe it or not is one of the most expensive aspects of the guitar.
